Chapter 74

In the marriage, his attitude was always cold and repressed, seldom showed his emotions to me, and seemed to put all his heart on the pack, so that people could not see the real him.

At this moment, he looked at my gaze, but so hot and crazy.

Before I could respond, he leaned in, his hands moving to undo the buttons of my blouse.

His lips trailed down my shoulder, each kiss igniting a fire that I couldn’t resist.

The connection between us was undeniable, almost primal, and I found myself surrendering to it completely.

Just when I was almost on the verge of getting lost in Leo’s scent, he whispered something that took my breath away.

Liz, give me a child. We could have a new start…

words hung in the air, their weight almost suffocating.

I froze, a storm of emotions swirling within me.

A child… Was I ready for such a step? Did I want this with Leo?

I wanted my children to have what I never did–a full, happy family, free from the burdens of the past.

But how could I offer them that when my heart was still heavy with unresolved pain?

I came to my senses and pushed Leo off of me.

Leo was stunned, the pained look in his eyes at that moment was enough to move anyone, but I couldn’t ignore the turmoil inside.

I hesitated, unsure of how to express what I was feeling, a whirlwind of emotions.

“A child is not a tool to fix our relationship, and I’m not sure I’m ready to bring him into the world. Especially with the situation we’re in right now.”

I closed my eyes, trying to block out the emotion in his gaze, “That’s it Leo, I’m getting off. Don’t look for me for a while, I need some time to figure out our relationship.”

There was a long silence, the kind that made my chest feel tight. Finally, Leo spoke, his voice a whisper of defeat.

“Okay. But please, come back to me.”

Chapter 75

I didn’t respond, just out off the car and leave.

I didn’t tell Leo that the piano competition I was entering would start in three days.

I had already booked a flight to the city of Serevia and we were going to be apart for a while, which was just the right time for me to cool off.

That night, I tossed and turned in my apartment.

The next day, when I walked into the terminal with two dark circles under my eyes, I was surprised to see a familiar figure leaning casually against a pillar, his hands in his pockets.

Rolin, looking as handsome and carefree as ever, with that charming, playboy smile that always seemed to lighten the mood.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, more curious than surprised.

He grinned, pushing off the pillar to stand in front of me.

“What, no warm welcome? I’m hurt. But seriously, I’m here to escort you on this trip. Can’t let you go off on your own now, can I?”

I raised an eyebrow, half–amused, half–annoyed.

“Since when do you play bodyguard, Rolin?”

He shrugged, his smile never wavering.

“Since someone as lovely as you decided to go on a dangerous journey. You know me, always the gentleman.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, shaking my head at his antics.

But before I could respond, Lena’s voice cut through my thoughts, sharp with warning.

“Leo’s found us. He sensed Rolin’s presence, and he’s not happy. He’s coming this way, and he’s furious.”

As the plane ascended into the sky, leaving the ground far below, I leaned back in my seat, my mind a tangled web of thoughts and emotions.

I turned to Lena, my wolf, and quietly asked her to reach out to Lorne.

“Lena, please tell Lorne that Rolin and I are just friends. There’s nothing more between us,” I whispered, closing my eyes. “Tell him not to waste his efforts; we’re on a plane, and he won’t be able to catch up.”

Lena’s presence within me was comforting, though I could sense her reluctance.

“I’ll do as you ask, Liz,” she replied softly, her voice tinged with concern. “But be careful. Lorne and Leo are not in the best state of mind right now.”
