She leaned forward slightly, her eyes flashing as she caught leo’s attention.
With a seductive smile, she addressed him in a voice dripping with false sweetness.
“leo, it’s been so long since you visited me. You must be incredibly busy with work these
ays. I remember how, when I hurt my hand, you stayed by my side all night, taking care of me. You’ve always been so considerate. But you really should look after your health too,” she said, her words carefully chosen, designed to stir something in him.
leo’s expression didn’t waver.
He looked at her with a calm indifference, the faintest hint of amusement playing at the corners of his mouth.
“You’ve been out of the Werewolf Council’s custody for some time now, haven’t you?”
Aria’s smile faltered, just for a second, but she quickly regained her composure.
“You know that was all a misunderstanding,” she said, her tone soft, almost pleading.
“Oh, was it?”
leo’s voice was deceptively calm, his gaze unwavering.
“Because I’ve heard some rather interesting things recently. For instance, there’s talk that someone’s injury wasn’t real at all, and that a certain someone might’ve bribed a doctor to forge a medical report.”
The room fell silent.
The sharp clatter of metal hitting porcelain echoed as Aria’s spoon slipped from her hand, landing awkwardly on her plate.
Her face drained of color, and she looked almost sickly under the glow of the chandelier.
Her carefully crafted facade was beginning to crumble.

Andrew sneered, sensing the tension between us.
“leo, you’re just an immature, hedonistic child. I saw that new car in the garage, a multi–million dollar limited edition global sports car. You squandered Silvermoon’s money
on that. What did I teach you? You’re simply not good enough as an Alpha.”
For a moment, I froze, and then a slow smile spread across my face.
“Are you talking about the treasure blue sports car plastered with diamonds?”
I asked, my tone light, almost teasing.
“That’s my car.”
The room fell silent, all eyes on me.
Andrew’s expression morphed from disbelief to fury.
“No,” he spat, “how could you possibly afford a car that expensive? leo must have bought it for you! You’re a materialistic woman who doesn’t deserve to be Luna of Silvermoon!”
“This car has nothing to do with Silvermoon,” I said, my voice calm but firm.
“My father bought it for me. And I assure you, I’m more than deserving of the title.”
I felt leo tighten his grip on my hand.
His gaze burned into me, but I couldn’t help but wonder–was this his genuine affection?
Or was he merely using me as a tool in his battle against his father, just putting on a show for Andrew, pretending to be a loving couple with me?
