Chapter 206 

Before Daria could respond, a terrifying voice cut through the air. 

“Try saying that again,” Narik growled, his eyes burning with fury. 

He marched toward Cecily, his hands clamped tightly around her throat. 

“Do you believe I won’t kill you if you say one more word? I’ll do it right now, you spiteful, mean old woman.” 

Cecily gasped, her face turning ashen as she struggled to breathe, 

k’s gaze was filled with rage, his words laced with venom. 

“Why should Elizabeth risk her life to give him a child when Leo is nowhere to be found?” 

Narik growled. “I know what you’re trying to do. You want her dead to make way for Derick to take over Silvermoon. But as long as Leo and I are aime, there’s no way in hell you’re going to get away with it.” 

Cecily’s breath was shallow, her chest rising and falling in frantic gasps, her face a patchwork of red and purple as her lungs bezzed for air. 

She clawed at Narik’s arm with what little strength she had left, her fingers slipping uselessly against his iron grip. 

Desperation filled her eyes, but Narik’s resolve never faltered. 

His expression was a mixture of anguish and cold determination, each breath he took ragged and painful. 

When the nurse hurried over, pleading with him to let go, his voice came out hoarse, barely a whisper, yet filled with unmistakable authority. 

“Keep Elizabeth,” he rasped, his eyes burning with a fierce intensity. “If you don’t, one day Leo will lose control… and all of Silvermoon will pay for it.” 

The nurse hesitated, torn between her duty and the underlying threat in Narik’s words, her face pale as she backed away. 

Elizabeth POV: 

The cold, sterile light above me blurred as I lay on the snowy white sheets, my body drenched in sweat. 

Pain rippled through me in unbearable waves, every muscle in my body straining as if it were being torn apart. 

My lips, swollen and bloodied from biting down, couldn’t stop the small, broken sounds of agony from escaping me. 

The room was filled with hurried voices, but they all felt distant, as though I were fading in and out of a nightmare I couldn’t wake from. 

“Elizabeth, stay with us,” the doctor’s voice echoed above me, a steady, almost pleading tone that tried to tether me to consciousness. 

But the pain had consumed me. 

It was everywhere–seeping into my bones, flooding my veins, until I no longer felt like myself. 

My body wasn’t my own. 

It had become a battlefield, the labor hemorrhage draining not just my blood but my spirit. 

The doctor leaned over me, his face masked but his eyes full of urgency. 

“You have to push,” he urged, his words sharp yet somehow encouraging, though I had long lost any sense of hope. 

My breaths were shallow, my vision swimming. 

I tried, I tried to push, but my limbs felt heavy, like lead, and the energy in me was flickering like a candle fighting against the wind. 

I could hear the beeping of machines, the quick, clipped instructions from the medical staff, and the panicked beating of my own heart in my ears

Each time I tried to gather the strength, it felt as if I was slipping further away. 

The pressure was unbearable. 

The blood loss was immense, like I was watching the life force drain out of me, moment by moment. 

I could feel my pulse weaken, the cold creeping into my fingertips. 

Somewhere deep in my hazy mind, I wondered if this was it–if I was going to lose everything here. 

The thought of my baby not making it was terrifying, but the thought of leaving this world before even holding them was even worse. 

And then, in one agonizing final effort, a scream tore through my throat, and I felt the release. 

ft cry filled the room, the unmistakable sound of a newborn, and for a brief, beautiful moment, the pain seemed to subside. 

The baby was here. 

Tears mixed with the sweat on my face as I blinked up at the doctor, too weak to even turn my head. 

The nurse approached, her voice gentle as she held the tiny bundle close to my face for a fleeting second before whisking them away. 

“It’s a girl,” she whispered. 

But before I could even comprehend that my child was safely born, I heard something that sent a shock through my already battered body. 

“Elizabeth,” the doctor’s voice called again, more urgent this time. “You need to push. There’s another one.”
