“Yes, OMEGA confirmed. “I couldn’t make out much, so I hung up.” 

I sat quietly, processing the information. 

Something about the phone call nagged at me, but I couldn’t place why. 

My heart thumped wildly in my chest as I stared at my phone.

I wanted to open my mouth to explain. 

“Leo, I didn’t mean to…” I started, trying to explain myself, but before I could finish, he interrupted. 

“Yesterday, there was a batch of wounded,” he said, his voice clipped and angry. 

“I had to cover my own injuries. The medicines we need are only stocked up by Silvermoon. I asked Aria to call you, but you just… hung up. I know you 

don’t like her, but-” 

My heart sank. “You think I deliberately didn’t answer the phone because I was jealous of Aria?” 

I couldn’t believe the words coming out of his mouth.
