In heat? The words felt foreign to me.
As someone who hadn’t fully embraced my werewolf side until recently, I hadn’t experienced the full force of a heat cycle before.
Now, the heat that radiated through my body felt like fire, consuming every rational thought I had left.
My body ached with a need I didn’t understand, and the intensity of it left me feeling unsteady, weak.
Leo’s hands were gentle as they moved along my back, offering comfort, but also stoking the embers of the fire burning inside me.

My resolve crumbled in that moment, and I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.

When I awoke the next morning, the room was empty.
The spot beside me in the bed where Leohad been was cold, and an uneasy feeling settled in my chest.

The words made my chest tighten, and I wasn’t sure if it was from lingering emotion or confusion.
Everything that had happened last night–everything he had said, everything we had shared–it felt monumental, yet I was left feeling.. incomplete.
As if something still hung between us, unresolved.
At that moment, an alert popped up on my phone and it read: my ticket to city K has been successfully ordered.
The ticket didn’t mean a short trip or a gig, but rather Orlando’s intention to take me to settle there on a permanent basis, where the music scene was stronger and more conducive to my learning and development.
Going to K Country for development also means that I’m going to say goodbye to the people and things of Silvermoon once and for all
I made up my mind.
I had planned to tell Leo about this decision on his birthday yesterday, but too much had happened that night.
I got out of bed, feeling the remnants of last night’s passion echo through my body, but I quickly pushed those thoughts aside.

“I hope you don’t mind. Since I’ll be the Mistress of Silvermoon soon, I figured I should get used to things around here.”
My jaw tightened as I approached the table, the cold fury rising within me.

“We tried to stop them, Miss Sherry, but they-”
“Enough.” I waved the servant off and turned my attention back to Cecily.
My voice was sharp as I asked, “Who told you you could touch anything in the house or eat this stuff?”
Cecily’s face flushed crimson as her expression wavered between outrage and a forced smile.
Her lips twitched as she desperately tried to maintain her composure
“We’re all family,” she said with a strained grin. “What’s wrong with sharing a little food?”
I remained unmoved by her sudden shift in demeanor, and my voice was steady but firm as I replied, “We are not family. And right now, you’re going to leave this house.”
The words hung in the air like a blade, and Cecily’s forced smile crumbled
Her anger, barely concealed until now, surged to the surface.
“You’re making a mistake,” she hissed, eyes flashing. Tve heard the news–Leo is heading to war. The rogues are ruthless this time, and there’s a very real chance he won’t come back alive. What will you do then, huh? When you’re left alone with no one to rely on?” Her voice sharpened as she leaned forward. “If you start treating us with a bit more respect now, maybe I’ll consider letting you carry Derek’s child. I’d be more than happy with your… qualifications.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of her offer, the sound bubbling up from my chest.

The sight of him made my stomach turn.
His arrogance, his entitlement–it made my skin crawl. I took a slow, deliberate step toward him.
“Derek,” I said, my voice dangerously soft, “are you healed?”
He raised a brow, clearly not expecting the question.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” he began, but before he could finish. I grabbed his injured arm, the one still wrapped in a bandage, and yanked him off the stool with a swift, decisive motion.
“Ah!” Derek yelped in pain as he tumbled to the floor, his face contorted in shock and agony.
He struggled in my grasp, but my hold on his arm was unyielding, and he was powerless against my strength.
“Let go of my son!” Cecily shrieked, her voice rising to a panicked pitch. She rushed forward, but I shot her a cold look, my grip still tight on Derek
“Leave,” I said, the command clear and final “Both of you.”
Seeing that they were no match for me, Cecily’s bravado crumbled.
Her hands shook as she tried to maintain some semblance of dignity, but her eyes flickered with fear.
Muttering curses under her breath, she hurried to help Derek to his feet.
Before they exited, Derek glared at me, venom dripping from his words.
“You’ll regret this, you bitch. Sooner or later, you’ll pay for what you did.”
I took a step toward him, my body tense and ready to strike again
Derek flinched, his bravado evaporating in an instant as he stumbled backward, practically tripping over his feet in his haste to flee the house.
Cecily followed quickly behind, dragging her son away before either of them could humiliate themselves further.
Once they were gone, I felt a strange calm settle over me, though my heart still pounded in my chest.
I needed to focus. I wasn’t going to let them get to me–not when there was so much more at stake.
Grabbing my jacket, I headed out the door, my mind already set on where I needed to be.
I drove to the pack’s headquarters, where Leowas finalizing preparations for the war.
As I approached, the pack’s fighters stood aside, recognizing me as their Luna and allowing me to pass without question.
I walked through the door and knocked softly on Leo’s office.
“Come in,” his cold voice echoed from within
