Before I could respond, Leo stepped forward, his voice firm 

“Elizabeth is my Luna,” he declared. “If she’s going to dance with any tight, it will be with me

“I’d be happy to help, Mr. President,” I replied. “I’ll do my best to support her and find out what’s troubling her.” 

Felix smiled gratefully, resting a hand on my shoulder.

As I reentered the ballroom, the soft hum of music filled the air.

I scanned the room for Lorek or Marcus but didn’t see them, which was, admittedly, a relief. 

“Who are you looking for?” A familiar voice startled me from behind. 

I turned to see Leo approaching, a look of jealousy still etched into his features. 

“Marcus had to leave early,” he said, his voice carrying a slightly malicious undertone. 

“Why?” I asked, curiosity piqued.
