The car was ready, and the team gave me the signal. 

Slipping into my racing suit, I felt the familiar weight of the helmet as I fastened it into place.

On my way to the car, I noticed a swarm of media gathered near the entrance.

“No,” he said coldly. “I’m here for a conference. I came because the organizers invited me after it.” 

Narik, standing beside him, chuckled darkly. 

“My brother doesn’t care that I’m racing. He probably didn’t even know. Right, Leo?” 

The tension between the brothers was palpable, and the media, sensing blood in the water, pressed harder with questions, their cameras flashing 

relentlessly. 

Leb, clearly fed up, made a swift move to leave, his long legs carrying him quickly through the crowd. 

As he broke free, he collided with me, standing just off to the side. 

“Player?” he asked, his voice sharp, his eyes scanning me up and down, though my face remained hidden beneath my helmet. “Sorry, I was in a hurry. You’re not hurt, are you?” 

For a moment, panic seized me. Did he recognize me? 

I kept my voice low, trying to mask any familiarity. 

“It’s fine,” I muttered. 

Leo’s gaze lingered on me for a second longer than I was comfortable with, his brows furrowing as if trying to place me. 

His legs shifted slightly, and I feared he might say something more, I almost shook fearing that he might have recognized me. 

“Your voice sounds somewhat familiar.” Leo looked at me suspiciously, “It’s very abrupt, but could you please take off your helmet? You sound… A lot like my wife.” 

I can’t reveal my identity now, especially with the race so close. 

I lowered my voice and said, “I’m sorry sir, I think you have the wrong person.” 

“It’s a Sparco Racing Team racing suit,” Leo had said, his voice casual but filled with curiosity. 

“By the sound of it, you’re a female racer?”

I nodded expressly and moved away from him to the race course and inside my race car.
