Andrew’s lip curled into a sneer. 

“Well, you won’t be anytime soon. Leo won’t be standing again, and I’ve decided to remove him from his position as Alpha. Silvermoon needs a new heir, one I will train personally.” 

The air between us crackled with tension. 

“You can’t do that,” I replied, my voice steady despite the storm brewing inside me. “Silvermoon isn’t the same pack it was when you abdicated. Leo and I have worked hard to win the hearts and minds of our people. The position of Alpha is not something you can just take away.” 

drew’s eyes narrowed, and he didn’t even bother to hide his contempt. 

“You’ve played too many tricks for Luna’s position, but unworthy is unworthy.” 

I laughed confidently, “Ha, you think I care about Silver Moon Luna’s position? Then I’ll tell you. I’ll only be better off without the status of Luna.” 

He stepped closer, his eyes boring into mine. “We’ll see about that.” 

With those words, he turned on his heel and called out to Narik. 

I watched as his son, tall and stoic, emerged from the shadows. 

Andrew placed a heavy hand on Narik’s shoulder, his intentions clear.

But before he could respond, Narik spoke up. 

“I won’t be a pawn in your game,” Narik declared, his voice firm. 

Andrew stopped, slowly turning to face his son. “What did you say?” 

“I said I won’t be a part of this,” Narik repeated, stepping out from under his father’s grasp. “I refuse to marry Aria, and I refuse to betray the pack.” 

The color drained from Andrew’s face, his shock quickly morphing into rage. 

“You dare defy me?” he spat, his voice rising with each word. “After everything I’ve done for you, you choose now to rebel?” 

Narik stood tall, his expression unyielding. 

“I’m not a child anymore, Father. I make my own decisions, and I won’t let you use me to further your ambitions.” 

The tension in the hallway was palpable, the standoff between father and son playing out like a silent battle.

With a final glare at Narik, Andrew stormed off, his footsteps echoing down the corridor.

I watched him go, then turned my attention back to the hospital room. 

Taking a deep breath, I pushed open the door and stepped inside. 

The room was dimly lit, the soft beeping of machines the only sound. Leo lay on the bed, his face pale and drawn, his usually vibrant eyes dull with pain and fatigue. 

When he saw me, his expression softened, a flicker of hope in his gaze. 

“You’re here,” he murmured, his voice weak. 

I came to his side and didn’t say anything. 

Seeing him so vulnerable, even though I wasn’t sure I still loved him, the kind of bond that existed between us as mates could tell me that he was in a
