I pushed her gently away, 

to mask the confusion and frustration I felt, 

She looked hurt, her smile faltering. 

“Is everything okay?” she asked softly. 

Ignoring her, I placed my wine glass back on the coffee table with a deliberate clink. 

Rising from the sofa, I glanced around the room, searching for Panther.

Panther, my loyal Beta, nodded respectfully. “Yes, Alpha. Please take your time,” 

The women around me greeted me warmly, their eyes lingering a moment too long. 

They made their way to the dance floor and the bar, leaving me alone once more, 

I sighed, feeling the weight of loneliness despite the crowd. 

As I made my way toward the dimly lit hallway, my irritation simmered. 

The hallway was quieter, the lights softer, offering a brief respite from the chaos of the main room. 

That’s when I saw him–Rolin. He was engaged in a conversation with another man, but his gaze was fixed on me. 

The moment our eyes met, his eyebrows furrowed, and he walked over with a purposeful stride. 

“What are you doing here?” he demanded, his voice sharp. 

I met his gaze, unflinching. “None of your business. Don’t come near me.’ 

His eyes narrowed, anger simmering beneath the surface.

“You’re Elizabeth’s Alpha, and you’re spending your time in a place like this. Aren’t you afraid she’ll leave you again?” 

A surge of anger

fists. 

I was about to lash out when a dazzling figure appeared beside me. 

Aria, dressed in a high–fashion, colorful dress, approached with a bright smile. 

“It’s really you, Leo,” she exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement. 

Suppressing my anger, I gave a noncommittal hum. 

Aria’s enthusiasm was infectious, but I wasn’t in the mood. 

“Yes, it’s me,” I replied curtly. 

She beamed, oblivious to my 

mood. 

“When I parked the car, I saw yours and knew you must be here to socialize. I came up to find you.” 

I wasn’t interested in small talk. Raising my hand to push her away, I prepared to leave. 

But Aria was persistent, grabbing my arm gently. 

“Leo, you smell like alcohol. Have you been drinking a lot? Is something upsetting you?” 

I pulled away sharply. “Let go.”

Her face contorted with displeasure, and I could see the annoyance in her eyes, 

Rolin watched us with a mocking sneer, his presence making me even more uncomfortable. 

It was clear–they were the ones who had betrayed me first. 

Rolin stepped closer, ready to leave, but not before throwing another jab. 

“If you don’t cherish Elizabeth, hurry up and break off your relationship with her instead of despicably using some means to tie her up all the time.” 

I grabbed his arm, my grip tight. 

“What do you mean by that?” 

sneered, his eyes cold. 

“You don’t deserve her. You might as well set her free. Do you know how many people adore her?” 

A roar of anger escaped my lips. 

“Have you been waiting for this day? Don’t you dare dream of taking her away from me.” 

Without warning, we clashed. 

The fight was intense, the anger fueling every move. 

As we struggled, Rolin spoke through gritted teeth. 

“You’re Elizabeth’s Alpha. You should be supporting her right now. She just learned about her mother’s whereabouts. She needs your support and companionship, but instead, you’re here looking for women at this clubhouse.” 

His words hit me like a punch. 

“What mother?” I demanded, momentarily freezing. 

Rolin pushed me away, straightening his clothes. 

“That day, I found out news related to Elizabeth’s mother and went straight to the academy to tell her. Did she not tell you?” 

I stared at him, disbelief etched on my face. 

I’m incredulous. 

So that’s why, the other day, Elizabeth seemed so excited–not because of being with Rolin, but because she heard the news of her mother from him. 

A flicker of realization crossed Rolin’s face. 

He saw the doubt in my eyes, the uncertainty that began to creep in. 

“Don’t you see? You misunderstood Elizabeth.” 

I took a step back, my mind racing. 

“I saw you touching Elizabeth’s face. Even if she didn’t fall in love with you, I know you love her.” 

Rolin didn’t deny it. Instead, he offered a provocative smile. 

“Thank you. I feel like my chance is coming soon.” 

I ignored him, my heart pounding with a mix of anger and confusion. 

Desperate for answers, I pulled out my phone and called Elizabeth. 

But my call went straight to voicemail.
