“But watching Leah act so smug is starting to really get under my skin,” Celeste added, her fingers twitching, her gaze drifting toward the bidding paddle.
Before she could second–guess herself, Charmaine made her move, raising her paddle.
“Bidder 88, 2.7 million going once!”
The room immediately shifted its attention to her. The new bidder, a young woman who had just jumped in with such a high offer, sparked whispers of surprise throughout the crowd.
Leah and the others quickly turned toward the new voice, their expressions growing tense.

“What is she doing here?!”
Veronica and Liam’s voices rang out, both clearly angry.
