Chapter 1005
Elder Mitchell wasn’t buying it. “That just means you guys didn’t really want to give anything. If you truly wanted to, there’s no such thing as a gift that can’t be delivered.”
The two old men started bickering again, but Hayden ignored them. Instead, he kept his eyes on the infant bathing
room.
Before long, the nurse finished bathing the baby and carried her out.
Hayden reached out to take her, but the two elders immediately moved to get closer. He blocked them without hesitation. “Don’t you know old people’s eyes are toxic? You shouldn’t be staring at her for too long.”

Elder Mitchell: “…”
With that, Hayden carried the baby and walked away. The two old men trailed after him, hoping to catch another glimpse, but Hayden wasn’t about to give them the chance.
“Congratulations,” Aaron, who had been standing nearby, offered his well wishes.
“It’s a daughter. Take a look,” Hayden said, his pride practically radiating off him.
Aaron lowered his gaze to the tiny baby in Hayden’s arms. She was soft and delicate, her skin fair and smooth. Though she was still so small, it was already clear she had double eyelids. She was fast asleep, her tiny eyelids fluttering occasionally. Just watching her made his heart melt.
“Aaron, you should hurry up too. Having a daughter is amazing,” Hayden said as he walked off, cradling the baby.
Back in the delivery room, Lena had already finished tidying Keira up. She glanced at Hayden. “Why are you bringing the baby here? The nurses can take care of her. Right now, you should be looking after your wife.”
“It’s fine. Besides, your nurses aren’t that reliable,” Hayden said without hesitation.
After enduring the pain of childbirth, Keira was utterly exhausted. Her entire body felt weak and powerless. Hayden gently placed the baby beside her pillow.
“Look, honey, our daughter is just as beautiful as you.”
The two old men weren’t wrong–our baby had inherited features from both of them.
“Thank you, wife,” Hayden whispered before kissing Keira’s cheek.
By now, Keira’s emotions had settled. She couldn’t take her eyes off the baby no matter how hard she tried. No matter how much she looked, it never seemed enough–she wished she could etch her image into her heart.
“Hayden, we have a baby now. From now on, we’re officially parents,” Keira murmured, kissing the soft little blanket the baby was wrapped in.
“Mhmm. From now on, I have two treasures–one big, one small,” Hayden said, his face overflowing with happiness.
“Hayden, take a picture. I want to post it on my Story,” Keira suggested.
He took out his phone and snapped a picture of the three of them–a perfect family portrait.
Outside the Delivery Room: After finishing her tasks, Lena finally noticed Aaron was still there.
“Uncle, why are you still here?” she asked, surprised.

“Are you done?” he replied.
Lena nodded. Just then, he handed her a small box.
She looked at him suspiciously. “What’s this?”
“Supper.” Aaron opened the box, revealing a bowl of steaned bird’s nest soup.
Lena chuckled. “Are you sure this is for me?“.
“Mm. Keira’s portion is already in her hospital room,” Aaron replied. At Hayden’s request, he had arranged for food, but he hadn’t forgotten Lena’s share either.
He even unwrapped the spoon and handed it to her. Lena hal expended a lot of energy assisting with the delivery, and she was indeed feeling hungry. She took a spoonful and tasted it–sweet and silky.
“Uncle, do you like kids?” she asked as she ate.
“They’re alright,” he said, glancing at the baby posters on the wall.
“That means not really,” Lena deduced. “Babies are actually adorable. Once you have your own, you’ll understand. Just look at Hayden–he’s only been a dad for a few hours, and he’s already completely devoted to his daughter.”
Aaron didn’t reply immediately.
Lena looked up and met his gaze.
Only then did he say, “That’s something you can only truly understand once it happens.
