Leah sniffled, wiping her nose as she sobbed, feeling deeply moved by Olympia’s words. “Mom, I’m so lucky to have you. Luckily, I still have you to help me.”
Olympia gently patted her on the back. “You’re my one and only precious daughter. If I don’t help you, who else would I help?
“Stop crying,” Olympia continued, “I’ll take you out shopping, buy you some beautiful clothes and jewelry. Even if it’s not for the show, my precious daughter still deserves to look gorgeous!”
Leah leaned on Olympia’s shoulder, a cold sneer tugging at the corner of her lips. “Mm–hmm.”
After putting the tracking collars on the big cats, Charmaine let them go free to roam around.
The kittens, on the other hand, were settled in the guest room. They adjusted quickly and even started playing with the toys Alfred had specially bought for them.
Seeing the two fluffy little furballs, Charmaine couldn’t help but take out her phone and lie on the floor, snapping several pictures.
She rarely posted on social media. This time, she uploaded nine grid photos with the caption, “From today onward, I have cats!”
Not long after, several comments popped up.
Celeste commented, “Wow! Super cute! Can I come over and play with the kittens?”
Charmaine replied, “You’re always welcome.”
Rex chimed in, “I want to come over and play with the kittens too!”
Charmaine wrote, “You’re not welcome.”
Rex was shocked. “What?!”
Was his boss deliberately messing with him? Why did she change her words when replying to him?
Kane added, “Wow, Charmaine, who never posts, is making a low–key love announcement with this post.”
Charmaine tilted her head and reread her own post.
Is this really a love announcement?
While she was thinking, a notification popped up that someone had updated their social media.
Charmaine instinctively refreshed the page, and the first post she saw was Emyr!
He had copied her post word for word and shared it in his own page.
Charmaine blinked in disbelief. Her pictures and words were now under Emyr’s name; it did kind of look like a public relationship announcement.

Charmaine chuckled softly, feeling a warm bubble of sweetness rise in her chest. “I already saw it; you stole my pictures.”
Emyr responded coolly, “Aren’t you going to comment?”
Charmaine’s eyes twinkled as she recorded her voice message. Her voice was sweet and teasing, “Childish!”
Rea, feeling slighted, threw a tantrum and protested for a while. Eventually, Charmaine had no choice but to promise to play a game with him to calm him down.
Mia and Sid were both online, so Charmaine created a group.
In the voice chat, Mia praised the kittens for being adorable. Meanwhile, Sid spoke up with a slight tone of disappointment, “Charmaine doesn’t seem to want us to visit?”
Rex, finding an ally, immediately chimed in with a protest, “Yeah, yeah! Boss is hiding her new lover and not letting us see him!”
Mia perked up. “Hiding a lover? A sugar baby??”
Sid, even more dramatic, sighed, “Charmaine already sees us as outsiders.”
Ambushed by all three of them, Charmaine had no choice but to surrender.
“I can’t entertain you all right now; give it a little time, okay?”
Hearing their collective groans, Charmaine quickly added, “As compensation, I’ll cook for you all. I need to talk to Sid about something anyway.”
She calculated the timing. “How about tomorrow afternoon? My clinic service ends at 6 PM. After that, I’ll drop by the Micah Institute, and then we can meet at Rex’s place.”
The three of them cheered at the prospect of Charmaine cooking.
Mia was the most excited. “Yay! Finally, I was bragging about the meals you made for him. He really got me mad!”

Charmaine raised an eyebrow. “Of course, I’ll make some barbeque skewers for you.”
“Aw, you remember what I love!” Rex exclaimed, touched.
Sid, on the other hand, was silent. Charmaine knew he was waiting for her to say something, so she smiled and indulged him. “And I’ll make seafood grits for Sid.”
