Celeste let out a cold laugh.

Clinging to his last shred of determination, he dragged Celeste along to the photo wall
A staff member approached and asked if they wanted to sign their photo as a keepsake. Celeste had heard Erin mention the Ferris wheel’s couple legend before.
She thought for a moment, then took the photo and tore it cleanly in half. She stuck her half onto the wall and was about to ask Rex if he wanted to do the same.
But Rex was too busy looking for Charmaine’s photo to even acknowledge her. Seeing that, Celeste simply stuck his half onto the wall as well.
The staff member was dumbfounded by their actions, standing there speechless.
What kind of careless couple is this?
Rex searched back and forth twice but still couldn’t find the photo. At this point, he was starting to panic.
Trailing behind him, Celeste secretly reveled in his distress. “Maybe they never left the photo behind?”
Rex, already frustrated, was livid. “Even if I can’t find the photo, it’s fine! I already had someone check that car’s license plate. We’ll know who owns it soon enough!”
Celeste had been quietly gloating, but when she heard that, her expression changed.
She could tear up a photo, but she couldn’t do anything about a license plate.
Crap, crap, is this really about to blow up in my face?
She watched as Rex made the call, her heart pounding wildly, nerves fraying like a cat on hot bricks.
In desperation, she even considered knocking Rex out cold, then rushing to confess everything to Charmaine and having her clean up the mess.
She didn’t hesitate. Moving silently, Celeste crept up behind Rex, grabbed a baseball bat from a nearby stall, and raised it high over his perfectly round head.
“What? You couldn’t find anything? How is that possible?”
“Mr. Chapman, the individual’s clearance level is extremely high. Only a select few senior officials have access to that information, so …”
Rex laughed in disbelief. “Higher than mine?”

Rex was so furious he hung up with a string of curses. When he turned around, he nearly collided with Celeste, who was grinning ear to ear. His anger flared. “What the hell are you laughing at?”
Celeste barely held back a triumphant shriek. “Can’t find it, huh? Well, that’s it for today’s partnership. I’m heading home. Bye!”
With that, she bolted.
Rex, crushed and speechless, spent the rest of the night stewing in defeat.
The next morning, as usual, Charmaine fed the kittens, tidied up her office, and got ready for the last day of filming.
Before consultations began, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in.”
“Dr. Robin.”
The visitor was Ingram Pearce, director of Beacon Hospital. A flicker of surprise crossed Charmaine’s eyes.
He gave her a polite nod, then shut the door behind him and locked it.
Seeing this, Charmaine raised a brow slightly. “Dr. Pearce.”
Ingram stepped up to her desk, his normally composed expression tinged with unease. He hesitated, looking as if he wanted to say something but didn’t know where to start.
Charmaine seemed to have an idea of what he was here for. “Dr. Pearce, you can speak freely.”
Relieved, Ingram dropped some of his reservations and spoke in a low voice, “I have a rather presumptuous request.”
He took a step back and bowed his head slightly, his tone sincere. “I hope you’ll consider extending your consultation time in Beacon Hospital’s holistic medicine department.”
Charmaine replied evenly, “I only signed on for three days of filming.”
“I know!” Ingram was visibly anxious. Under normal circumstances, his status wouldn’t warrant asking a junior for a favor.
“You may not be fully aware, but although Master Field is renowned both domestically and internationally, there are very few skilled holistic medicine practitioners left in the country.”
Ingram sighed, looking helpless. “With the rapid advancement of conventional medicine, trust in holistic medicine has dwindled. You’ve probably noticed in the past few days–most of the patients seeking treatment are elderly, while younger generations hardly consider holistic medicine at all. Beacon Hospital is one of the top three hospitals in Eragos. If even we are struggling with this, imagine how bad it is for the
others…”
