Chapter 2254 Hell Hath No Fury Like a Woman Scorned!
As soon as Gautier stepped into Chiara’s car, his hands grew restless.
“Mr. Verkade, stop this. Show some restraint!”
At first, Chiara maintained a dignified, untouchable demeanor.

The icy beauty’s aura wasn’t something any man could easily withstand–especially those piercing, cold eyes that seemed capable of freezing anyone on the spot. But Gautier, even with his injured leg, was unmoved. Without even looking at her, he pulled her close, his arm tightening around her slender waist, his hands growing bolder by the second.
“Mr. Verkade, stop! Gautier, no… ah! No!”
Chiara’s protests only became more frantic. Even the chauffeur couldn’t help but glance in the rearview
mirror.
“What the hell are you looking at? Keep your eyes on the road unless you want me to gouge them out!” Gautier threatened, his voice cold.
The chauffeur, terrified, immediately turned his attention back to driving.
“You’re terrible, Gautier!” Chiara’s voice shifted, her icy facade melting away, revealing a woman consumed by fire.
“But chicks dig bad boys, no?”
A devilish smirk played at Gautier’s lips, carrying a roguish charm that Chiara found impossible to resist.
Eventually, his hands ventured further, reaching places they shouldn’t.
Gautier knew full well–Maxwell had never truly conquered this woman because he hadn’t been bad enough, even though Magnus and Hattie thought he was despicable.
But Gautier?
He was rotten to the core. Especially when it came to women–there was no line he wouldn’t cross.
Ever since Mackenzie had married Emmanuel and given birth to his child, Gautier had become convinced that there were no true saints, no untouchable women.
Every woman was a creature of flesh and desire.
As long as a man knew how to play the game–or had the strength to force them into submission–then even the most virtuous of them would surrender.
Just like Chiara.
A woman nearing thirty, with normal sexual needs–how could she not crave a man’s touch?
But as Gautier reveled in his triumph, he remained oblivious to one crucial fact–Chiara was both a beauty and a pragmatist.

In the back seat, with the chauffeur’s back to theirs, the two tangled in a fevered exchange.
Occasional soft murmurs and suggestive noises filled the air, making the chauffeur’s face burn with embarrassment.

He dared not look back, forced to conjure mental images of what was happening behind him. Still, being perceptive, he deliberately slowed the car’s speed and took a more secluded route, giving them ample time.
As they neared the Zelinsky Residence, Chiara finally straightened up, adjusting her clothing. With a cold huff, she remarked, “You’re truly despicable, Mr. Verkade. If Maxwell finds out, he won’t let you off easily.”
“Haha, then I’ll make sure he never finds out!” Gautier smirked, fully aware of the meaning behind her words.
“Oh?” Chiara tilted her head, feigning curiosity. “And how do you plan to do that?”
“Simple. I’ll send him a level deeper into hell.”
Chiara’s expression turned icy. “One layer isn’t enough. At least seventeen more should do.”
Gautier clicked his tongue. “They say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Seems they were right.”
“Does that scare you?” Chiara stared at him, smiling icily, exuding a presence more venomous than a scorpion.
“Of course I’m scared. Scared that you’re not ruthless enough.” Gautier teased, reaching out to trace her jawline, but she slapped his hand away without hesitation.
“Mr. Verkade, we’re about to reach Zelinsky Residence. Show some restraint. Mr. Zelinsky is likely already waiting for you inside.”
Chiara’s attitude toward Gautier had clearly changed as if the woman from moments ago had never existed.
“Alright, lead the way.”
Gautier, too, assumed the demeanor of a refined gentleman.
As they stepped out of the vehicle, they maintained a deliberate distance, never straying closer than three feet apart, upholding the decorum of propriety between men and women.
Before long, Chiara led Gautier into the Zelinsky family’s council hall. Inside, Ezra was already waiting with a gathering of influential figures.
“Mr. Verkade, you’ve been through so much,” Ezra greeted warmly, stepping forward to welcome him. “I heard you were injured while trying to protect my brother–in–law. How are you feeling? Should I arrange for a physician to tend to you?”
“Thank you for your concern, Mayor Zelinsky, but that won’t be necessary for now,” Gautier replied, feigning gratitude. Then, his voice turned sharp with agitation. “My master was brutally slain by Emmanuel. I want nothing more than to see that man dead and avenge Mr. Tanner!”
Ezra studied him for a moment before nodding solemnly. “Teddy was my brother–in–law a partner of the Zelinsky family. He contributed immensely to the Chanaea Chamber of Commerce. As mayor of Zovince, I have both a personal and official duty to bring Emmanuel to justice!”

“That monster has been running wild in Zovince, relying on brute strength to do as he pleases! If we don’t eliminate him, we’ll never have peace!”
The people gathered were all powerful figures in Zovince–many of them the very same individuals whose sons had been humiliated by Emmanuel at Chiara’s club.
Later, during the battle at the gates of the Chapman Estate, they had even sent men to hunt him down. Yet, in the end, their forces had been utterly crushed–some dead, others gravely wounded–while Emmanuel remained not only alive but thriving.
It was infuriating!
So, they had come to Ezra, demanding that he, as mayor, take action and restore their dignity.
Gautier couldn’t help but steal a glance at Chiara and finally marveled, Hell really hath no fury like a woman scorned. She set a trap, and Emmanuel stepped into it, sinking deeper with no chance of escape. No doubt, Emmanuel’s doomed, having messed with this woman.
Chiara sensed Gautier’s gaze but remained impassive, though a flicker of satisfaction glimmered in her eyes.
“Mr. Verkade,” Ezra continued, “since you were Mr. Tanner’s heir and trusted assistant, I have no doubt that you are a man of great intellect. Given that everyone here shares the same enemy, why don’t you propose a plan?”
Of course, even as mayor, Ezra couldn’t openly discuss orchestrating a murder. It was far more convenient to let Gautier handle that part while he merely supported from the sidelines.
“If you trust me with this task, Mayor Zelinsky, I will humbly offer my suggestion,” Gautier said. Time was short, so he didn’t beat around the bush. “In three days, Yorick Dotson will ascend Divine Mountain for his final challenge against the Eight Supreme Grandmasters. At the same time, Ethan Hale will be leading a delegation of Chanaea’s top officials to the Chapel of Oros for a national blessing ceremony.
“As you all know, Emmanuel is tasked with ensuring Ethan Hale’s safety as part of his Northern Region assignments. That means he will be on Divine Mountain. So, gentlemen–let’s unite and turn that event into a grand hunt–an execution!”
His words struck the perfect chord with the room.
It was exactly what they had gathered at the Zelinsky Residence to discuss.
A private vendetta? A public reckoning? Why not both?
Privately, they would slaughter the wolf. Publicly, they would execute the lion.
