Emyr’s eyebrows twitched slightly as he carefully observed Charmaine peeling the shell. After watching her movements, he rolled up his shirt sleeves and picked one up as well.
Charmaine finally got a bite to eat, but when she saw him starting to peel a crayfish, she was startled. “Hey, don’t! You don’t know how to peel them! Be careful not to–uh.”
This time, it was her turn to have a crayfish shoved into her mouth.
She had to admit–eating the meat without peeling the shell herself tasted especially good!
Emyr unhurriedly picked up another one and continued, “Isn’t this how it’s done?”
Watching Satan handle it with ease, Charmaine couldn’t help but give him a thumbs–up. “As expected, your ability to learn is top–tier!”
That flattery was perfectly executed, right?
Satan let out a soft scoff but didn’t stop his actions. Imitating her earlier actions, he continued stuffing peeled crayfish into her mouth.
“Hey, peel your own and eat it yourself!”
“I don’t eat.”
“But you’ll eat the ones I peel for you?”
“That’s not me wanting to eat.”
“Huh?”
Good grief! What kind of twisted logic was that?!
Charmaine had already been fed several and refused to fall behind. She kept going, too.
If Satan stuffed one into her mouth, she stuffed one back into his.
Just like that, the two went back and forth until they finished all three pounds of crayfish, leaving nothing behind.
Even the cucumbers were gone.
Seeing the faint trace of satisfaction on Satan’s face, Charmaine smirked slightly and poured the pre- soaked instant noodles into the bowl of sauce, stirring it evenly.
At this, Emyr furrowed his brows tightly, his expression filled with disdain. “How do you even eat this?”
As he spoke, he glanced down at his hands, still slick with oil. He was clearly hesitant–he couldn’t bring himself to take action.
Charmaine burst into laughter and tore open two packs of disposable forks. “Use forks, of course! What, were you planning to keep using your hands?”

No way–Satan actually had moments when his brain short–circuited. This was unexpectedly…

Charmaine happily slurped up her noodles, the grin never once leaving her face.

Emyr watched her, utterly captivated. Her face was flushed, and her entire being seemed to glow with life and joy that he found himself unable to look away.
“Hey, what are you staring at me for? Eat!”
Emyr snapped out of his daze.
He averted his gaze, his expression as indifferent and composed as ever.
Only he knew just how out of control the rapid pounding in his chest truly was.
After finishing their meal, Charmaine cleaned up the kitchen and then tidied up the desk. By the time she was ready to rest, it was nearly 4 a.m.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, she was surprised to see that Emyr—who usually turned in by 10 p.m.–was still sitting at the desk, busy with something unknown.
She quickly checked online. “Looks like the sunrise will be early today, around 5:30.”
She then opened a compass app to find the direction of the sunrise.
“The hot water ran out last night, so maybe just rest for a bit? I’ll wake you when the sun comes up.”
Emyr frowned slightly. He was a clean freak. “Forget it. We’re heading back in the morning anyway. I’ll sleep when we get back.”
Wow. So, he’s planning to pull an all–nighter.
Charmaine had no other choice. She moved the blanket to the sofa, adjusted its position, and then reached out to push Emyr over. She even bent down slightly, making a show of preparing to carry him.
His body tensed instantly. “What are you doing?”
“Carrying you to the sofa. Or do you plan on sitting in your wheelchair all night?”
Sure, his wheelchair was custom–made, the only one of its kind in the world, but no matter how luxurious, it couldn’t be as comfortable as a sofa.
Emyr pressed his lips together and, this time, said nothing. He leaned into her support and shifted onto the sofa.
Charmaine tucked him in with the blanket, then walked over and pulled back the curtain facing the sunrise. It perfectly framed the open space beyond, revealing the faint outline of distant mountain peaks.
Delighted, she ran back to the sofa, curled up beside him, and pressed tightly against him. It was warm and incredibly cozy.

Emyr wasn’t particularly interested in any of them.
He was about to say “whatever” when he suddenly remembered how Kane had once nagged at him about relationship strategies. He hesitated for a moment and replied, “Horror.”
