For a brief moment, the atmosphere in the room was thick with tension, as if it was on the verge of freezing over.
The two of them remained motionless for nearly half minute until Celeste suddenly jumped up, eyes wide open.
But before she could even take a step away from Rex, a sharp pain in her scalp yanked her back.
Her hair was tangled in Rex’s flashy diamond–platinum watch!
Clearly feeling the girl writhing like a startled kitten, Rex’s expression shifted several times. With his free hand, he pressed against her lower back and suddenly lowered his voice, “Don’t move!”
Celeste instantly froze.
Her big, blinking eyes widened in shock and flushed red. Her small lips were tightly pressed together, the corners trembling slightly–her fury barely contained, yet tinged with a hint of embarrassment and grievance.
Rex quickly said, “The priority is getting your hair untangled.”
With only one hand free, he tried his best to loosen it, but somehow, the more he worked, the tighter it
got.
Celeste couldn’t take it anymore. She grabbed the fruit knife from the table and swung it down without hesitation.
Startled, Rex instinctively yanked his hand back. Snap! Celeste finally stood up. A strand of black hair was now wrapped around the strap of Rex’s watch.
Still gripping the knife, she pointed it at him. “Forget what just happened!”
Rex swallowed nervously. “Don’t worry. Nothing happened at all … not a thing!”
Celeste sat on the other side, still holding the knife, looking completely puffed up with anger.
Rex was beyond embarrassed, his heartbeat going absolutely haywire–like he’d seen a ghost!
In all his years, aside from his mom, this was the first time he had ever been this close to a girl… and they even – k–kissed!
That was his first kiss!
He desperately tried to calm himself down.

Before he could finish, Celeste’s icy glare and the sharp knife in her hand both swung in his direction. Rex immediately shut his mouth.
Seeing him behave so obediently, Celeste looked as if even one more second of staring at him would be an eyesore. She turned away, leaving him with the back of her head.

But the moment she did, her fierce and serious expression completely collapsed.

Charmaine had just finished making a steaming spaghetti bolognese when she suddenly sneezed.
Rubbing her nose, she snuck a glance at Satan.
Phew, he didn’t notice. Charmaine sprinkled some cheese on top and carried the plate over.
Emyr had just wrapped up a short conference call when the steaming hot spaghetti was placed in front of him. It was only then that he realized how hungry he was.
He ate gracefully, but that didn’t stop him from finishing the meal at an impressive speed. In no time, the spaghetti was completely gone!
Charmaine handed him a warm towel, and Emyr asked. “Did you bring the luggage over?”
“It’s here. I talked to Celeste already. I’ll sort it out later.
Charmaine pouted, still unable to wrap her head around it. Here was Satan, traveling halfway accross the world, with a car that had everything–fridge, internet but couldn’t bring a single servant along.
She’d barely gotten a chance to relax, yet here she was, back to doing her old job.
After quickly tidying up the luggage, she noticed Emyr was still buried in work. With nothing else to do, she flopped onto the sofa and started scrolling through her phone.
That’s when she noticed the flood of messages from Rex.
Rex: “Boss, where did you go???”
Rex: “Boss, help!!!”
Help?
Charmaine replied, “What happened?”
It took a while before Rex responded, “Boss, how do you untangle hair?”
Is that a life–or–death emergency?
“Cut it off.”
Rex: “No way, I need to give it back.”
Charmaine. “Then untangle it yourself Good luck”

Basil sent, “You brat, have you already forgotten about your master?”
Charmaine chuckled and quickly replied to appease the old man, “No way! I just finished my finals. I’m out camping with some classmates right now. I’ll come see you as soon as I’m back!”
