Chapter 275 Dinner with Emyr

Last time a group came, this time Celeste visited the villa alone. The normally bold Celeste suddenly turned shy, chatting away with Alfred about Charmaine’s home life.
As they chatted for hours, Charmaine thought, aren’t we supposed to be studying?
The weather was terrible, and when it was time for Celeste to leave, a thunderstorm broke out.
Checking the forecast, Charmaine suggested, “It looks like it’ll lighten up in a couple of hours. Why don’t you stay for dinner?”
Celeste, caught off–guard, asked, “Would that interrupt your dinner with Mr. Emyr?”
Charmaine, pondering Emyr’s recent grumpy demeanor, started to say, “He’s been busy with work, so he probably won’t…”
She was interrupted by the household staff scrambling to fetch umbrellas, “Mr. Emyr is back!”
Charmaine closed her mouth, embarrassed, and joined the staff outside.
Despite their efforts, Emyr got soaked in the heavy rain.
Seeing a maid nearly in tears, Charmaine grabbed a small towel from her, covering Emyr’s head and rubbing it roughly.
Peeking under the towel, she met Emyr’s frosty look and blinked innocently. “I saw a drop of water slip in. If it isn’t dried properly, you’ll get a headache.”
Emyr’s cold look pierced through her flimsy excuse, “Is it gone now?”
Charmaine gauged his mood–no signs of anger.
“Not yet, a minute or two more!”
She draped the towel back over him and continued her vigorous drying.
Emyr remained silent.
Celeste, watching eagerly, could not help but exclaim, “Oh my god! Mr. Emyr is actually letting Charmaine fuss over him! He looks like a lion getting groomed!”
The house staff watched the scene, whispering among themselves, “No doubt, he’s completely indulging her!”
Charmaine Nelson was a woman of principle.
She said two minutes, and she really did wait for two minutes before putting her hands down.
Tad watched in fear.
He had followed Emyr for many years and had never seen anyone dare to mess with him like this and live to tell the tale.
Charmaine was definitely the first!

his charm.
“This looks much better now.”
Emyr remained silent, instead looking towards Celeste who was now laughing uncontrollably.
He furrowed his brow slightly, prompting Charmaine to explain, “She’s here to study with me. The rain outside is too heavy right now, so she’ll leave after dinner when it’s lighter.”
Emyr nodded and gestured to Alfred, “Let’s have dinner.”
Upon hearing this, Celeste, who had regained her composure, started trembling.
She hugged Charmaine’s arm tightly, like holding the only driftwood in the sea, trembling all over, “No way, is Emyr going to have dinner with us?!”
Is it too late for me to go back now?
Charmaine glanced at her pale face. She thought Celeste was fearless, but she was actually afraid of Emyr.
“Do you want him to wait for us to finish eating before he eats?”
Celeste became more and more panicked, shaking her head vigorously, “Even if you kill me, I dare not!”
Seeing her scared look, Charmaine rarely laughed, “All right, with me here, he won’t eat you.”
Celeste felt a knot in her stomach.
Does Mr. Emyr look like he won’t eat people?
To her, he seemed incredibly fierce!
Charmaine led Celeste to the dining room, then naturally took an apron from Alfred and headed towards the kitchen, leaving Celeste face to face with Emyr.
Celeste was almost scared to tears, wishing she could join Charmaine in the kitchen.
Normally, when best friends introduce their boyfriends, the friend is in control–the boyfriend has to make an effort to impress.
However, why did it feel like the roles were reversed for her? Why couldn’t she stand up to him?
It was probably because when she had previously bullied Charmaine, Emyr had come down hard on her.
