“Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, I’m organizing a royal concert in Andrusia next month, and the Queen of Yasaria will be attending. Would it be possible for your daughter to assist with the performance?
Willard and Olympia were completely taken aback. They had never imagined that Charmaine could play the piano so brilliantly.
Though they didn’t fully understand the intricacies of music, they had heard snippets of Leah’s practice sessions at home recently. Initially, they couldn’t detect anything particularly remarkable. However, Charmaine’s performance was on an entirely different level–absolutely extraordinary. Compliments poured in from every direction.
Could it be that the venue’s superior musical equipment is responsible for making her performance sound so flawless?
Whatever the reason, Willard and Olympia could not dismiss the flattering remarks. They stood there, smiling graciously, accepting the praise with a modest but pleased demeanor.
“You’re too kind,” they responded, clearly enjoying the attention.
The audience reacted, and even Basil and the others could sense the insincerity in the Nelsons‘ words.
The old men were fuming. “Unbelievable! How shameless are the Nelsons?”
“Charmaine’s talent is undeniable, but what does that have to do with the Nelsons?”
“Now they’re trying to ride Charmaine’s coattails?”
Basil, attempting to enjoy the performance from his disciplined disciple, found his mood completely
soured.
He gestured toward the host, exchanging a few quick words. The host nodded and rushed backstage.
Meanwhile, Charmaine bowed and exited the stage.
As she walked off, she noticed Leah standing in the shadows, her face pale and devoid of emotion. Leah had been treated for her injury but still looked ghostly, her eyes fixed on Charmaine as she walked by without a word. Without acknowledging her, Leah passed her and made her way to the back.
Elvia approached eagerly. “Dear, you were absolutely incredible! How long have you been playing the piano? Who taught you? Would you be interested in studying under me? I could help you take your career to the international stage and make you a world–renowned pianist!”
Charmaine raised an eyebrow slightly, clearly uninterested. “I’m not interested, but is it possible to release Celeste now?”
Elvia nodded quickly. “I’ll get her right away! Don’t worry about the piano for now. Take your time to think about it. You can contact me whenever you’d like!”
Charmaine wasn’t keen on continuing the conversation, but before she could follow Elvia, the host urgently called her back for another round of applause.
Confused but compliant, Charmaine returned to the stage.

The audience was still processing the earlier performance when the elderly men stood up and moved to the center of the stage.
Suddenly, the “Ms. Nelson who had just exited, returned to the spotlight and walked toward the Elders.
The room fell silent in anticipation. Everyone was eager to witness the unfolding interaction.
Basil, with a warm smile, spoke first.
“Miss, your piano performance was truly impressive. We would love to take a photo with you.”
Charmaine, observing the men’s intentions, didn’t miss the subtle signal from Joe and Ian behind her. She humbly lowered her head and responded, “Thank you for your kind words.”
Basil, with a grin, directed the group to position themselves for the photo. As the camera was about to snap, he casually asked, “By the way, Miss, what’s your name?”
Charmaine played along, “Master Field, my name is Charmaine Nelson.”
“Oh, Ms. Nelson … Wait a moment. I heard your parents are here with us tonight. Why don’t we have them join us for the photo?”
At these words, Willard and Olympia could hardly contain their excitement.
Being in a photo with The Four Elders would be a remarkable honor! It is a once–in–a–lifetime opportunity. Finally, Charmaine has done something that would bring us such glory!
The couple stood proudly, their faces glowing with pride, eager to join the stage.
But just as they began to rise, Charmaine’s voice rang out clearly, cutting through the air. “Master Field, you’re mistaken. I don’t have parents.”
The room fell into stunned silence.
Everyone turned to look at the composed, radiant young woman standing on stage, then at Willard and Olympia, whose faces were now frozen in a state of shock, caught halfway to the stage. Their expressions were twisted in disbelief, more dramatic than any roller coaster ride.
The murmurs in the room began to buzz. “No way… is this Ms. Nelson not related to the Nelson family?”
“Now that I think about it, I attended Ms. Nelson’s birthday party once. She was beautiful, but nothing like she is today. I thought maybe she had cosmetic surgery, but now … she doesn’t seem like the same person…
“I knew it! Didn’t the Nelsons‘ daughter get into some trouble for plagiarism at a fashion design competition? Their company’s stock took a hit because of it. There’s no way they could have such a talented daughter.”
