Arthur decided that it wouldn’t be wise to make a big deal out of it, fearing unnecessary commotion, so he simply let it pass without much explanation.
However, those who needed to know were already aware.
When Arthur sent someone to inform the Walton family, Jagger and Cora were still in disbelief.
“What’s going on? You’re from Arthur’s side? How could Tristan be sent to the Dark Web Division? He won’t come out? That’s impossible. You must be lying!”
Ryan said, “I’m not lying. I’m just here to inform you. Mr. Jarrett is merciful. Considering your advanced age and past contributions, he’s decided to let you live out your remaining years in peace. He’s protecting you from being at the mercy of
others.

Cora wanted to argue, but the people Ryan brought blocked her way and threw a pile of documents at her.
These were documents not meant for public eyes.
“Keep this one copy for yourselves. I hope after reading them, you’ll know how to behave and live out your days in peace. My main task today is to take away what belongs to Mr. Walton. If there’s any inconvenience, I apologize! Search!”

do this?” Cora was still in a daze.
Their people were many, and seeing the situation, they were quite nervous, unsure of what to do.
Jagger, already trembling, squatted down to pick up the documents.
After glancing through them, his weathered hands tightly clutched his chest, as if he couldn’t breathe.
Seeing this, Cora panicked. “Honey, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me! Is our Walton family going to fall apart? Hang in there! Someone, help! Help! Call an ambulance!”
Lydia, who had wholeheartedly followed Cherise, had no reaction when she heard about Tristan’s trouble.

Lydia still felt a bit awkward, thinking she didn’t quite fit in with the two of them, especially after what she had done to Jean before.

She slightly lowered her head. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. I might disturb you!”
Hank stood up and pulled her down onto a stool. “Ah, we’re cousins, not a couple. Of course, it’s not a disturbance.
“Coming here to relax is all about having more people to make it lively, right, Jean?”
Jean nodded, looking at Lydia. She knew Lydia still felt guilty about what had happened at her family and also knew about the serious events that had occurred in her family today.
It seemed the Walton family was done for, gradually fading from everyone’s sight.
After thinking for a moment, she spoke up generously, “Lydia, just sit down. Hank is right. More people make it more fun. What would you like to drink? I’ll order for you.
“Don’t hold any grudges. I have a big heart and know you didn’t do it willingly. That’s all in the past. Let it go! Tonight, I’m treating. Waiter, bring this lady the same drink as mine!”
“Sure thing!”
In a short while, a cocktail identical to Jean’s gradient–colored drink was placed in front of Lydia.
Jean picked up her glass, and Hank followed suit, raising his glass to Lydia.
“Lydia, I’ve heard everything about you. I also heard from Cherise that you’ve decided to follow her. That’s great. Here’s to welcoming you into our big group!”
After hearing Jean’s words, Lydia smiled and nodded gently at her. The three of them clinked glasses.
“Thank you!” Two soft words came out of Lydia’s mouth.
These brief words showed her current ease and freedom.
Then, Jean raised her glass again. “Also, congratulations to you on your new beginning!”
Once again, “Thank you” came out of Lydia’s mouth.
Not only that, but her eyes seemed to glisten with a bit of moisture, twinkling under the lights of Ebb & Flow.
Being happy, Hank said, “Lydia. Congratulations to you! Let’s celebrate! Cheers!”
This time, the three of them drank their glasses in one go.
Soon, Truman arrived and saw the three of them, joining in, “Wow, you three! Such an odd trio actually got together. That’s rare!”
Perhaps taking advantage of having had a few drinks, Jean, seeing him, directly said without any reservations, “Mr. Simpson, you came just in time. Tell Lydia that what we did was just for show. We weren’t really a couple, right?
