Claire was sitting on the sofa, knitting a sweater when she received the call from Arthur. She was planning to be like the other grandmothers and knit a few cute cartoon sweaters and some pairs of woolen shoes for the baby before it was born.
It just so happened that Cherise’s due date was in the dead of winter, making it perfect timing.
When the call came, Claire’s mind raced quickly. “Well, she’s the type who values her pride above all else. Just push the news and the announcement of her disposition in front of her. Let her see it for herself.
“Other than that, you don’t need to do anything, or you can handle it as you see fit. I haven’t really suffered any losses anyway.”
Hearing Claire’s words, Arthur laughed out loud on the phone, “Alright!” Indeed, women often knew best what other women wanted and feared.
After all, coming from a family like the Walton family, with parents who raised her that way, Stella did place her dignity and reputation above everything else in life.
In the first–level dungeon of the Dark Web Division, Stella was being held.
Leo and Hugh walked in to find a completely different Stella.
Hugh was taken aback. “Oh my gosh, are you even Stella? How could you change so much in just a few days? Leo, did the Waltons pull a switcheroo on us?”
Leo glanced over nonchalantly. “No way, our security is top–notch. No one could sneak in and switch her out. She just took off her makeup. Don’t be surprised.”
Stella, sitting on the bed, didn’t seem interested in acknowledging them, but she still asked, “Are you here to let me out? Did someone from my family come? Were they my parents or my brother?”
Both Leo and Hugh let out a cold laugh, “You’re dreaming!”
Then Leo continued, “Jagger and Cora did come yesterday, but there’s nothing they can do. This is the Dark Web Division. Once you’re in, you don’t get out!”
Stella’s demeanor suddenly crumbled. “How could that be? My parents are both decorated with honors. How could they not get me out? Is Morris abusing his power? I need to see Morris. I need to talk to him properly.
“No, Morris is known for his bad temper. I need to see Cherise. I need to see her.”
Hugh shook his head. “Save your breath. The person you tried to hurt is our lady’s mother. She’s the last person who wants to see you. Save your energy for when you start shouting. Bring it in!”
With that, some men carried in a seventy–five–inch screen.
Stella had no idea what was going on, but a bad feeling washed over her.
A moment later, when the announcement of her downfall and moral corruption played on the big screen, she was completely stunned.
This was something she had never imagined in her entire life. Always sailing smoothly, envied by many, blessed with endless wealth and honors, she actually ended up like this.
Her greatest fear was being disliked by the public and being despised. Now, all the things she feared were happening to her.
For a moment, she couldn’t even scream. Overwhelmed, she fainted on the spot.

The next day was still bright and clear, with just a few clouds dotting the sky, and not a ripple in sight.
It was the first day of the new semester, and Cherise arrived at Betrico University right on time.
Her presence was a stunning sight.
However, unlike before, Cherise’s belly was now noticeably rounded. From behind, she still looked like a beautiful young
woman.
But from the front, it was clear she was an expectant mother with an exquisite appearance.
“Baby, today you’re accompanying Mom to class!”
After class, she chatted with some classmates she hadn’t seen over the break. Then, realizing she hadn’t visited Carson in quite a few days and missing him, she asked Hugh to drive her to the lake island.
At that moment, Carson was alone in his study, fiddling with a tarot spread.
When Eugene knocked and entered, he saw a slight frown on Carson’s face.
Carson’s expression seemed off, as if something was bothering him, but it was unclear what.
He softly called out, “Master, Cherise has arrived and is playing with Kitten downstairs. I told her to come up and find you, but for some reason, she insisted that I announce her arrival, saying she didn’t want to disturb you!”
Upon hearing that Cherise had come, Carson’s expression became even more troubled. He looked up at Eugene and said, “Cherise is here? Why did she choose to come to the island today?”
Eugene nodded. “Yes, Master, what’s going on? Can’t she come?
“You usually seem quite happy when Cherise visits. Why do you look so worried today?”
Carson didn’t answer directly. Instead, he glanced at the tarot spread on the table and sighed softly, “Alright. The celestial signs today are not good. She’s pregnant, and I’m worried about her.
“Well, since she’s here, let’s just make the best of it! Go ahead and call her up.”
“Okay,” Eugene responded, turned around, and walked out. He glanced out the window at the weather and muttered, “The weather looks fine to me. I don’t know what’s gotten into Master lately. He’s been acting strange.”
After descending the stairs and approaching Cherise, he said, “Cherise, Master says you can go up. He’s in the study.”
Cherise stood up. “Okay, thank you, Dr. Garcia!”
Eugene thought for a moment, then added, “Cherise, Master seemed a bit off today.
“You know how he’s usually such an optimistic person, always cheerful. Just now, I actually saw him frowning and looking a bit worried. It’s really strange.”
Cherise responded with an “Oh?” She looked up at the direction of Carson’s study on the second floor and then at the sky above her head. “I’ll go up and see for myself. Dr. Garcia, I’m craving the taro balls in fresh milk you make!”
Eugene’s face lit up. “Ah, you want some? That’s easy! But we’ve run out of taro on the island. I’ll have to go to the market. It might take some time to get back. Can you wait for me?”
Cherise nodded. “Sure, no rush. I’ll stay here all day.”

“Great! I’ll go get it for you right away.” With that, he waved to Cherise and walked briskly towards the dock.

Cherise watched Eugene’s retreating figure, then looked down at the giant tiger lying on the ground. “Kitten, you’re getting bigger and bigger.
“You look more and more reassuring. Come on, let’s go upstairs to see Master! Be good and protect Master well!”

A few minutes later, in the study upstairs.
Cherise knocked twice and pushed the door open.
As soon as she entered, she saw Carson in his wheelchair and the tarot spread on the table.
“Master, I’m here!” she called out sweetly and walked in.
Kitten obediently followed her, slowly making his way to the back of the large bookshelf, where he lay down quietly and curled up into a ball.
If one didn’t look carefully, he wouldn’t even know there was a giant tiger there.
Seeing Cherise, Carson’s usually cheerful face softened. “Why did you choose to visit me today, Cherise? Look at this tarot spread. Today might not be peaceful. And the center of it all is right here on this lake island.”
Cherise smiled, “I missed you! And this is my home. I can come back whenever I want. I don’t need to pick a specific day.”
