But now, seeing Charmaine, he was struck.

Like a lotus rising from the water, pure and untouched. She was naturally beautiful, without the need for any adornment.
Her fresh, bare face glowed with natural radiance, and her eyes were bright. There were dark circles under her eyes from last night’s lack of sleep, but she was still so stunning that it was hard to look away.
When Charmaine walked out, she was already simmering with anger because of Bennett.
Hearing Milo’s words now, Charmaine’s expression darkened. “I don’t have any of those things. Are you telling me to dress in Leah’s hand–me–downs?”
Her eyes turned cold. “I find them filthy.”
Milo quickly snapped back to reality, lowering his gaze when he met Charmaine’s indifferent stare. His heart skipped a beat as if something was clicking into place.
He remembered now.
It was right after they brought Charmaine back when they had discussed her living arrangements.
Leah was especially kind and generous, offering to return everything to Charmaine because it originally belonged to her. Now that Charmaine was back, everything should go back to its rightful owner.
When she said this, it tugged at everyone’s hearts.
Olympia, who had originally instructed the butler to prepare new items for Charmaine, immediately ordered that Leah also be given a set of new things.
The intention was clear: to remind Leah that even with Charmaine’s return, she remained the little princess of the Nelsons, and the family would continue to love her and cherish her.
Leah was deeply touched, and when Charmaine returned, she still took her to her closet to let her choose
some clothes.
As for how it ended, Milo didn’t pay much attention.
His only concern was making sure his beloved little sister wasn’t upset. The next day, he went to a luxury store and bought a few newly released handbags, giving Leah an exclusive one.
By the time Charmaine left, the only luggage she took with her was what she had arrived with.
The things the Nelsons had prepared for her were left behind, unused and untouched.
She didn’t care for any of it.
Milo pressed his lips together, frustration churning inside him, unsure of what to say.
Suddenly, Tad walked in, breaking the awkward silence.
“Mr. Emyr, Gordon’s account transferred three million to Bennett last night. The timing was exactly when Ms. Nelson was taken to the top floor.”

Charmaine coldly curled her lips. “Three million, Bennett really sold me for a good price.”
“Far more than that.”
Emyr spoke up, his voice carrying a chilling, almost sinister tone. ‘Once the deal’s over, there will be additional payments.
Charmaine’s smile turned even colder.
Milo couldn’t hide his concern. He stared at Charmaine, unable to hold back his question any longer. “What happened last night? Why were you with the people from the Reads?”
Charmaine’s expression remained neutral as she calmly explained, “Bennett didn’t secure the South City project and ended up in debt. His enemies came after him, and he was afraid it would affect Jane. He asked. me to find him and take care of the funds for her treatment this year.
After hearing this, Milo immediately started pacing in anger. “That sounds like a total lie! How could you believe that?!
“I don’t believe it, but I came to see for myself.”
Charmaine turned to look at him, her eyes cold and piercing. “That money is for Jane’s treatment. Why shouldn’t I take it back for her?”
Milo frowned. “That’s Bennett’s mother. If he doesn’t care, why should you?”
“Ha.
Charmaine sneered mockingly. “Whether it’s the Nelsons or the Reads, the only person who’s ever genuinely cared for me is Jane.”
Milo stiffened at her words.
Charmaine continued to watch him, her gaze unwavering as his expression shifted between confusion and guilt. “I can’t do much for her, but if I don’t even try, what difference is there between me and the heartless Bennett
Milo was taken aback.
After a long silence, he finally muttered, “I’m sorry.”
“I don’t need your apology, and you don’t need to apologize to me,” Charmaine replied, each word piercing like a sharp needle, sinking deep into Milo’s chest.
“I don’t care how you see me, so there’s no need for you to apologize.”
Charmaine didn’t hold back at all in front of everyone, completely disregarding Milo’s pride.
Emyr’s eyes were locked on Charmaine, his expression unreadable, but he said nothing.
On the other hand, Shawn and Sinnova, unaware of the full situation, couldn’t agree with her.
“Ms. Nelson, that’s a bit harsh. You were in danger last night, and it was Mr. Milo who went to find Emyr to help you.”
