For some unknown reason, Lydia and Tristan took two different cars. As the car slowly started, Lydia looked sideways at the Walton mansion, which was gradually moving away, and a cold and free smile slowly appeared on the corner of her mouth.

Mateo nodded. “Yes sir. She’s outside. What should we do next?”
Arthur resumed what he was doing, his pen constantly moving across the paper. “Have the people that Morris arranged from the Dark Web Division arrived?”
Mateo replied, “Yes, they have arrived and are waiting outside.”
Arthur hummed in agreement. “Tell Tristan, I’m busy. Have him hand the person over to the Dark Web Division. Once they’re there, my junior sister will need to get involved.
“Also, leak the news about Tristan’s daughter’s incident. No need to limit it to the internal network.”
Mateo said, “Yes, sir.”
Outside, Tristan was growing impatient. He wanted to barge in, but their social statuses differed, and the Walton family was in the wrong. So he waited by the door, restraining himself.
Under the scorching sun, his temper was nearing its limit. Lydia, on the other hand, stood ramrod straight, not moving a muscle despite the sweat dripping down her face. Finally, Mateo emerged.
Knowing he was wrong, Tristan was unusually polite. “Mateo, how is it going? Is Arthur done? Can we go in now?” He asked, already stepping to the side to enter.
Having worked with Arthur for so long, Mateo was both capable and resourceful. He stopped Tristan with a hand. “Mr. Walton, please wait. Mr. Jarrett is on the phone with the leader of Ritewood. He just got through, and it’ll probably be another two hours.

“He instructed you to hand the person over to the Dark Web Division directly. He also said you need to go to Fresburg today, so don’t be late.”

Tristan’s eyes widened in anger, glaring at Mateo. But then he seemed to remember something and his anger subsided. “Thank you for your trouble,” he said slowly.
Mateo glanced into the distance, and two people in Dark Web Division uniforms emerged from the bushes.
Tristan swept a glance over them, took two steps back to Lydia’s side, and said in a voice only they could hear, “Great timing. We can finish what we started last time at the Dark Web Division. Did you hear me?”
Lydia heard him, but she didn’t answer. The people from the Dark Web Division were approaching. She didn’t look back as she followed them away.
Soon, Lydia was taken to the Dark Web Division.
This time, her eyes weren’t covered. When she got out of the car, she looked up at the large characters above the gate: [Secret Base. No Trespassing.] Her expression was flat, devoid of fear or anxiety.
Leo walked out of the gate and saw the person standing there. “Well, if it isn’t Miss Walton. Why are you back again? I wonder how long you’ll be staying this time. How about I get you a monthly package, or a yearly one? Welcome!”
Cherise had just finished accompanying her mother, Claire, for a post–rehabilitation checkup when she received a call from Morris.
Morris said, “Cherise, the person the Walton family handed over is Lydia.”
Cherise was not surprised to hear this. “Where is she? The Dark Web Division?”
Morris said, “Yes, I’ll pick you up later.”
Cherise said, “Okay.”
An hour later, Cherise showed up at the Dark Web Division.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to go in with you? You’re still pregnant,” Morris asked worriedly.
Cherise looked at the man who had been extra careful with her since she got pregnant and smiled. “No need. It’s all women in there. Lydia is definitely not the cruelest one. Wait for me; I’ll be out soon.”
It was still early in her pregnancy, and Cherise was in good shape. Except for those who were close to her, no one could tell that she was pregnant. She glanced at Morris with her youthful aura and pushed the door open.
It was the same basement where Lydia had been held last time. When Cherise entered, Lydia was sitting on the bed in a daze, just like last time.
Hearing the door open and seeing Cherise enter, Lydia looked up at her.
After a moment of thought, she stood up and met Cherise’s eyes.
Seeing Lydia standing up, Cherise said in a teasing tone, “So, are you here to be someone else’s scapegoat, forced, or voluntary?
“If you were forced, then the Waltons are just so–so. If you volunteered, then I can only say I overestimated you.”
As soon as Cherise finished speaking, Lydia let out a sarcastic laugh. “It’s half and half, a bit of both.”

Cherise said, “News of your incident has spread, to the point where even the Waltons can’t contain the rumors. I wonder if this time, the Waltons will save you, and how they will do it.”
Lydia didn’t speak upon hearing this, only pressing her lips together. Then, as if thinking of something, she said to Cherise, “I’m not afraid of death, nor am I afraid of being punished. I’m not afraid of being tortured, no matter how brutal.
“I grew up being beaten like this. I don’t care how Dark Web Division wants to lock me up or for how long. I even accept that it was my own family who sent me here. It’s just someone on the outside, I’m still attached.”
When she said the last sentence, it was obvious that she was choking back tears.
Lydia said, “If possible, I would like to ask Ms. Leach–oh, no, Mrs. Chivers–to help me with this last favor.”
Hearing this, a faint smile appeared on Cherise’s lips as she took a few steps closer to Lydia. “It’s not that I can’t help you, but you know, I’m not one to suffer losses.”
