“What about tonight then?”
“I’m busy at night, too.”

My expression changed, “You’re downstairs in our company?”
As soon as I finished speaking, I walked out of the company building.
James spotted me immediately and waved to me with a smile.

The smile on his face instantly faded, “Skylar, I wanted to have lunch with you today. Will you accept? Even if it’s you having a meal with a friend, you wouldn’t mind having one more, right?”
I felt something was off about James’s demeanor. Just as I was about to speak, I heard Cole suddenly shout, “Mr. Strakovski!”
I turned around, and sure enough, I saw Lukas standing next to me.
I frowned slightly, recalling Lukas’s warning to keep my distance from James.
I spoke, “Sorry, Mr. King, I really don’t have time to have lunch with you.”
James’s voice carried a hint of coldness, “So, does your friend mind having one more to tag along?”
I furrowed my brows, “Mr. King, it has nothing to do with my friend.”
James persisted, “So, it’s because you don’t want to.”
I felt a bit awkward. I didn’t want to provoke James.
James was the kind of person who appeared easygoing but could be quite formidable. I had no idea what James might do if things turned sour today.

I sighed, “Mr. King, please don’t make it difficult for me.”
This was my softened attitude.
James’s tone was somewhat ambiguous, “I’m not making it difficult for you. I just want to have lunch with you today. Let’s see who would dare to say anything.”

Last week, she received a one million dollar transfer into her account, and the person who sent the money is likely the real mastermind behind all this.” He said.
“Can you find out who the sender of the transfer is?” Lukas asked coldly.
“We’re still investigating. The money was transferred from a Swiss bank to Natalia, and the sender has covered their tracks quite well. It’s not going to be easy,” Martins replied.
