“Ava?” Martins didn’t recognize Ava.
I nodded, “Ava Smith. She’s the new employee in the company’s Information Technology Department and a well–known hacker online.”
Upon hearing this, Natalia’s heart sank. She didn’t know how skilled Ava was at restoring surveillance videos.
Martins made a phone call, and after a short while, Ava entered the room with a notebook in her hands.
Seeing Ava, Natalia felt a sense of unease for no reason.
Ava was already aloof, but now her face was even colder.
I raised an eyebrow, “Why did you bring a notebook?”
Ava looked at me, then her eyes fell on Natalia. “The surveillance video has been restored.”
Natalia’s face instantly lost its color upon Ava’s words.
Ava’s gaze shifted from the computer screen to Natalia’s face, “Do you want to explain, or shall we watch the surveillance video
together?”
Natalia stepped back in panic, her lips trembling. She tried to convince herself that Ava was just bluffing.
She took a deep breath, “I–I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know anything.”
Ava coldly sneered, “Oh. Is that so?”
She didn’t waste time on Natalia and immediately opened the restored surveillance video.
Seeing the screen on the computer, Natalia lost all her strength and slumped onto the sofa.
Martins looked at Ava with amazement and curiosity. He hadn’t expected that the seemingly indifferent girl from the Information Technology Department could do something that so many others couldn’t do.
Moreover, she had managed to restore the surveillance video in such a short time, despite his phone call not being made too long ago.
In the video, I left my design draft and Natalia received a phone call. Then, when no one was around, Natalia quickly folded my design draft into a small piece and stuffed it into her pocket. She headed to the restroom.
Shortly after, she returned from the restroom and took out a design draft that looked identical from her pocket, waiting for the
courier to come and mail it.
Martins stared at Natalia with indifference. “Do you have anything else to explain?” He asked coldly.
Natalia began to tremble uncontrollably. She never thought that this matter would be exposed. The person had said that the design was not even good enough to pass the preliminaries, so no one would pay attention to it.
Moreover, even if someone noticed, the surveillance video had been tampered with, and there would be no evidence pointing to her.

Seeing Natalia’s silence, Martins’s expression turned even colder, “Why aren’t you saying anything? You said earlier that you didn’t
know anything.”
Natalia lowered her head and bit her lips tightly, not saying a word.
Martins’s tone became completely cold, “Since you’re not saying anything, I’ll have to report this to the police.”
Natalia suddenly looked up, her eyes reddening, “It wasn’t me.”
Martins snorted coldly, “If it wasn’t you, then tell me, who instructed you to do this?”
Natalia was stunned for a moment and seemed to think of something. She opened her mouth, but for a long time, she could only stammer, “It was me. I wanted to do it myself. I was jealous of Ms. Lopez’s talent and wanted to ruin her.”

I told Martins, “Mr. Parker, you can investigate. Ava and I will leave first.”
Martins nodded.
Ava and I walked out of the small meeting room, and Ava followed me closely.
I looked back at her, “Aren’t you going back to the Information Technology Department?”
Ava rubbed her ear, “I, I just restored the surveillance video. They are all too enthusiastic over there, so I wanted to avoid them and
go to the Design Department.”
I saw through Ava’s thoughts with just one glance. She was just making excuses to go and see Cole Hopkins.
So I nodded, “Let’s go.”
As we entered the Design Department, we saw Cole coming out of his office.
Cole had just learned about my design draft being swapped, and he was about to call me to his office to find out what happened. However, he saw Ava and I coming in from outside.
In a deep voice, he said, “Ms. Lopez, come to my office. I have something to ask you.”
I looked at Cole, “Director Hopkins, I know what you want to ask, but Ava knows more about this matter. Let her tell you.”
Cole didn’t know what I was up to, but since I said that, it was clear that I didn’t want to talk about it myself, so he didn’t want to
force me.
Besides, he saw Ava’s eyes shining brightly, so he nodded subconsciously, “Then let her come over.”
To be honest, he didn’t even know why Ava was here.
