Lukas felt a mix of anger and frustration. He turned his head sharply and refused to look at Skylar anymore. His heart sank to the lowest point. “No need. We’re almost at Hill Crest One Residence. The family doctor is already there.” He said.
After he finished speaking, he tried to control his emotions, not wanting to lose his temper. The car sped up to over a hundred kilometers per hour and rushed towards Hill Crest One Residence.
To be honest, Lukas was not only infuriated at being interrupted during such a moment of passion, but he was also frustrated by his wounded pride.
However, what can he do? He can’t bear to watch Skylar suffering like this, but she doesn’t want to be taken care of.
What kind of woman does Lukas really want? Why did he have to take advantage of her vulnerability? That would only make him lose face.

Although he and Skylar were only married by certificate, anyone who dared to scheme against him would have to pay the price.

responsible for this.
After ending the call with Elias, Lukas immediately called Martins to investigate who had tampered with the drinks that night.
Once he finished the call, he went back to the bedroom to check on Skylar.
In the short time he was away, Skylar’s flushed face seemed to have faded slightly.
Lukas could tell that the medicine brought by the family doctor had indeed worked.
The next morning, Lukas was awakened by his phone’s ringing.
He picked up the call, assuming it was Martins with the results of the investigation.
To his surprise, it was his father, Cillian Van Eimeren, on the other end of the line.
Lukas’s voice was still husky from just waking up. “Dad, why are you calling? Is there something you need?”
Cillian frowned, “You’re still not awake?”
Lukas moved the phone away and checked the time. It was already past ten in the morning.
He rubbed his forehead and sat up. “I went to bed late last night. What’s the matter? Is there something you want to talk about?”
Last night, he had seen Skylar’s blush gradually fade away before leaving her room.

Lukas felt annoyed by his father’s nagging. He frowned, “Dad, do you have something important to tell me?”
Cillian sensed that his son’s tone wasn’t right and immediately became angry, “It’s all because you don’t come back home. Your mother keeps nagging about it every single day. If not for that, do you think I want to say so much to you?”
Lukas’s drowsiness disappeared completely, and he felt somewhat helpless. “I’ll come back home in a few days. Is there anything else? And, I’m no longer with Emily. We’ve broken up for good.”
Hearing his son’s tone soften, Cillian’s anger subsided. “I called to remind you not to promote that Skylar in your company.”
