Chapter 102
I stared at Lukas in shock, not knowing how to describe my feelings at this moment.
However, Lukas didn’t give me any chance to speak and simply turned and left.
His words weighed heavily on me, and Lukas’s steps seemed to be a bit lighter.
I stared at Lukas’s figure, at a loss for words.
I never expected Lukas to throw back at me everything I said downstairs.
What a vengeful man he was!
Quietly in my heart, I cursed, “Lukas, you jerk!”
Then, in a fit of pique, I hummed angrily, slammed the door shut, and went back to the bathroom to continue my shower.
I shouldn’t have opened the door while still in the middle of showering for this man.
Lukas returned to the master bedroom with his things and realized that his behavior just now was a bit childish.
However, he couldn’t deny that he felt much better after saying those things.
But then, he suddenly remembered that he would need to take sleeping pills tonight, and his mood soured again.
This was probably the price he had to pay for the momentary satisfaction of his words.
Lukas closed his eyes, took two sleeping pills, and lay down.
The next morning, Lukas woke up in a bad mood.
Although he fell asleep with the sleeping pills last night, it was not the same feeling as naturally falling asleep with me in his arms.
He felt inexplicably restless.
During breakfast, I asked him, “Mr. Strakovski, are you going to the court for the plagiarism case today?”
My state seemed completely unaffected by our conversation last night.
Lukas felt even more uncomfortable. He didn’t even look up and replied, “Martins will go.”
The events of the previous night were still lingering in Lukas’s mind. He found it hard to concentrate on anything else.
In the end, he decided to focus on his work. He immersed himself in reviewing the case files, hoping it would distract him from the
unsettling thoughts. Meanwhile, I was occupied with my own work as well, trying my best not to think about the recent developments in our relationship.
As days passed, Lukas and I kept our distance, both professionally and personally. We avoided unnecessary interactions, and our relationship became more like colleagues than a married couple.
Even though Lukas tried to convince himself that it was for the best, he couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease and regret that seemed to grow within him. As much as he wanted to maintain a clear boundary, his heart couldn’t help but be pulled towards my

presence.
Meanwhile, I tried my best to stay focused on my career and personal growth, but I couldn’t deny the emotional turmoil I felt. I wondered if it was a mistake to marry someone I barely knew and whose feelings towards me were so complicated.
Both Lukas and I were struggling internally, each grappling with our feelings and uncertainties. Little did we know that our lives
were about to take an unexpected turn, bringing us face to face with challenges that would force us to confront our true emotions.
I nodded, quickly finished my breakfast, and grabbed my car keys before leaving.
At the company, I clocked in and spent some time working on design drafts. When it was almost time, I decided to head to the
courthouse.
At ten o’clock in the morning, the plagiarism case between me and Bella officially began.
This was the first time I had seen Bella since being framed by
Victoria.
I had no intention of acknowledging him, but to my surprise, Victoria walked over and started a conversation with me. “Skylar, how have you been during this time?”
With so many media reporters around, I couldn’t lose my temper.
I replied coldly, “I’m doing fine.”
Victoria sighed and put on a show for the media, “Skylar, I know that Bella copied your design drafts, and you must be angry. But she’s still your sister. Regardless of the trial’s outcome, please spare her.”
I never expected Victoria to say these things in front of the media.
If I insisted on not forgiving my sister, I would be criticized. If I let it go, I wouldn’t be able to swallow the bitterness in my heart.
Just then, Bella added fuel to the fire.
She walked over, looking pale and weak, as if she might faint at any moment. Her wrist was wrapped in gauze.
I was afraid that Bella would pull a stunt in front of the reporters, so I subconsciously stepped back.
But to my surprise, Bella bowed ninety degrees in front of the media and said to me with a crying tone, “Sister, I’m sorry. No matter what happened before, it’s all my fault. I owe you an apology.”
Her voice was filled with a sob as she continued to bow, “Sister, I truly regret my actions. Please forgive me, okay?”
I stared at Bella with a stiff expression. In front of the media, I couldn’t curse at her directly.
But there was no way I would forgive Bella for what she had done. It was like a dream to expect that.
I was stuck in a difficult situation, my face turning ugly.
At this moment, some people started to sympathize with Bella.
“They are actually sisters. Skylar doesn’t need to fight so hard for a win.”
“Bella looks pitiful, coming to the court with injuries.”
“Forgive and forget. Since Bella has apologized, it’s not kind of Skylar to keep holding on.

Chapter 102
People who hadn’t experienced something themselves were quick to judge others and teach them how to be human.
I clenched my fists, my face turning blue. I never expected Bella to make a scene in front of the media on the day of the trial.
What was even more despicable was that people easily forgave those who hadn’t suffered, making them appear so noble.
The media cameras recorded this scene clearly. With a pale face, I seemed to have lost before the trial even began.
Then, a mocking sneer sounded.
A carefree voice said, “If apologies worked, what do we need the police for?”
