As she finished speaking, she reached out to open the still–warm lid.
Morris immediately stopped her. “I’ll do it. It’s hot.”
Cherise chuckled and said in a somewhat coquettish tone, “I’m not that delicate.”
“No, you are in my eyes.” As Morris spoke, he took the soup pot out of the pot.

In the dining room, they sat next to each other. Morris scooped the first spoonful and fed Cherise before he tried it.

Cherise shook her head and then nodded. “I can’t describe how I feel. But I look forward to it. What about you?”
Morris nodded. “I’m very nervous. I’m afraid you won’t be satisfied with the wedding I’ve prepared.”
Cherise felt both amused and distressed as she glanced at him. She knew that Morris had been busy recently.
