Chapter 411
Jeffery said calmly, “What were you talking about?”
Chase smiled.“We hadn’t started yet.”

Jeffery wanted to ask more, but Ashley turned and left. Jeffery noticed the two drinks in Chase’s hand.“And these are…?”
Chase said, “Custom–made cocktails. Mr. Cooper, want to try one?”
Jeffery paused.“The other one’s for Miss Mond?”
“Yes.”
As Jeffery was about to speak, Chase said, “I’ll be right back. Help yourself, Mr. Cooper.”
Jeffery frowned, looking in the direction Chase had gone. He saw Tanya standing with Tim, and Ashley walking towards them. He froze. Chase must be hurrying over to prevent Tanya from being bullied by Ashley and Tim.
Jeffery frowned and went towards them. Tanya had just tried to talk to Tim when Ashley returned. She ignored Ashley, saying to Tim, “Mr. Reed…”
“Everything alright?” Tim ignored her, turning to Ashley.” He’d seen Chase walk to Ashley. He’d wanted to check it out, but Tanya had stopped him.
Ashley nodded.“I’m fine.” As Chase said, they hadn’t started talking before Jeffery arrived. Nothing had happened.
Chase and Jeffery approached. Chase handed Tanya a drink.“What were you talking about?”
Tanya’s eyes softened as she took the drink.“I wanted to ask Mr. Reed some questions, but I didn’t get a chance.”
Chase nodded and looked at Tim.“Mr. Reed, when are you free for dinner?” He was setting up a private meeting between Tanya and Tim.
Ashley’s eyes turned cold. Tim scoffed.“Sorry, never.” Before they could respond, he said to Ashley, “Ashley, let’s go.”
Ashley nodded, ignoring them, and left.
Jeffery had been worried about Chase and Tanya. Seeing how thoughtful Chase was and how he’d tried to arrange a meeting for her with Tim, he realized he was overreacting. There was nothing between Chase and Ashley. Tim was Ashley’s biggest support. If Chase could win Tim
over, Ashley would have no leverage. This was a good
good thing for Tanya.
After a while, Tim clicked his tongue and asked Ashley, “Is everything really okay?”
“Yes.” Compared to the past, this was insignificant.
“Going home?” They’d planned to leave anyway. They hadn’t expected this to happen.
“Okay.”
They told Zark that they were leaving. Zark hadn’t expected them to leave so soon. He knew Ashley wasn’t a social butterfly, and he didn’t want to pressure her.“I’ll see you out.”
