RILEY’S POV
I felt Thane’s absence; that must have been what awoke me. He sat on the edge of the bed.
“Thane?” I called, and he turned to me. He seemed… different.
“Riley, hope I didn’t disturb your sleep?”
“Why aren’t you sleeping?”
“Do you want me to join you?” he asked, and I couldn’t help but see that as a bizarre question.
“Of course.”
He lay by my side, a bit too stiff.
“Are you okay, Thane?”
