Chapter 22 Little Fish
“Leah, your grandma isn’t wrong. When it really matters, you’re the one we can rely on!”
Valda’s face lit up with pride. “Exactly! Leah is our lucky charm. With her around, everything always works
out!”
Leah’s smile widened at the compliments, her pride álmost impossible to hide.
Charmaine gave Rex a few tasks to take care of. During that time, the Reads called twice. Charmaine glanced at the phone and blocked the number without hesitation.
Just then, there was a knock at the door, and a servant’s voice came from outside, “Mr. Emyr’s pets need to be fed daily. The trainer’s on vacation, so you’ll have to handle it today.”
Charmaine mumbled under her breath, “Emyr is such a creep, and yet he actually has pets?”
When she stepped into the massive garden in the back mountain, designed to resemble a tropical
rainforest, and laid eyes on the enormous crocodile, at least six feet long, lying completely still in the pond with its mouth wide open, she felt disgusted.
I doubt that Emyr has a heart.
That’s as absurd as thinking Milo could ever grow a brain!
A servant nearby pointed to a small wooden bucket in the distance and gave her an encouraging look. “That’s where Little Fish’s breakfast is. You have to bring it right to its mouth, or it won’t eat.”
Charmaine thought she heard it wrong. “This thing is called Little Fish?”
“Yes, Mr. Emyr named it himself.”
“After Mr. Emyr’s leg got injured, he started to raise these?”
“No, Mr. Emyr asked for this as a birthday gift when he was seven, from Old Mr. Cross.”
Unbelievable!
He’s been this twisted since he was a kid.
And this Little Fish? Just like him–won’t eat unless it’s hand fed.
What a disgrace to the crocodile family!
Charmaine rolled up her sleeves, opened the small iron gate, and carried the bucket of fish inside.
In a study in a small villa. An international conference was projected on the wall.
On the other end of the screen, subordinates were fiercely debating a development project in various languages.
Emyr, his hand casually resting on the armrest, listened with an air of detachment. His handsome face

The door was open. He noticed a servant approaching the butler, Alfred, to say something. Alfred looked worried, glanced at Emyr, then hesitated.
Emyr’s lips curled into a subtle smile as he monitored the surveillance feed from a small window, showing the tropical rainforest garden.
Through that window, the huge crocodile stood in stark contrast to Charmaine’s petite figure.
He leaned back comfortably, indulging in a moment of distraction.
The large crocodiles had a strong sense of territory, and after Charmaine entered its exclusive area, its amber eyes looked towards her.
She stayed vigilant and cautious. Instead of slowing down, she approached steadily, step by step.
However, when she was about six and a half feet away, the crocodile clearly began to move closer, slowly crawling forward.
Charmaine froze and tossed a small fish near its mouth
Yet, it merely glanced at the fish, remaining unresponsive.
“D*mn!”
Does this guy really need to be fed directly into its mouth?
Skeptical, Charmaine glanced at the crocodile’s hefty belly, then suddenly set the fish bucket down and decided to circle around behind it.
The crocodile clearly didn’t expect Charmaine to move away, its eyes darting around in confusion. But once she got behind it, it couldn’t see her.
She was just staring at its movement of trying to turn around. As soon as she saw the opportunity, she quickly grabbed the crocodile’s big tail. When the crocodile violently flipped over to attack, she quickly retreated in the opposite direction.
The crocodile’s huge body was an obstacle, and it couldn’t reach Charmaine who was behind it. It could only be dragged by its tail, roaring loudly in anger, but it couldn’t touch the tormentor at all!
Emyr’s pet was used to the pampered life, so it couldn’t take more than ten minutes of this torment. Charmaine pulled its tail, but it was too lazy to struggle anymore.
It might have been dumb, but it knew that no matter how much it struggled, it was useless!
Charmaine dropped its tail and dumped the whole bucket of fish right in front of it.
The already irritated crocodile turned its frustration into hunger, devouring the fish in just a few bites.
Charmaine brushed the dirt off her pants and strolled out of the iron gate with ease.
In the study, Emyr couldn’t help but let out an unexpected chuckle at the sight.
This woman…
Not only is she infuriating. but she also has a way with the crocodile.
