Chapter 69
“Haelor.” I didn’t realize when the words left my lips.
He wasn’t dressed in his normal military uniform. In its stead, he wore a navy blue suit that looked like it had been tailored just for him.
It hugged his muscular figure in just the right way, making him looked like an impeccably dressed gentleman. Underneath the suit jacket, he’d opted for a black button up shirt with the first two buttons left open.
Bella’s eyes widened as she sized up Haelor like some eye candy. In a flash, she’d already flown straight to Haelor’s side.
“May I just say you look so good in this suit? I just–wow.” She gushed over him.
He spared her a single glance before turning to me. His eyes softened just a little as he regarded me.
“Surprise, surprise.” He smiled.
Bella was still blushing and trying to get Haelor’s attention. “I can’t believe you’re actually here.”
His eyes flicked to her, a look of annoyance burning in his eyes. “Move.”
Bella’s smile faltered before she took a small step back. Haelor turned back to look at me, concern
flashing over his eyes.
“Is she bothering you, Melanie?” He asked, irritation slowly becoming evident in his eyes. “Because I don’t understand why she’d be here making things difficult for you.”
I couldn’t help but smile at how protective of me Haelor was being. On the other hand, Bella looked pale. She probably hadn’t been expecting that kind of reaction from him.
The Gamma Wolf security guard had been silent the whole time. He was too busy fawning over Haelor to even say anything.
After a while, he finally found his words. “General Haelor. It’s an honour to finally meet you. I’m a huge fan of yours and it makes me truly happy to be in your presence.”
Haelor hummed, a contented look on his face. “Melanie was invited here. I see no reason why you
refuse to let her in.”

Chapter 69
The Gamma looked like he was about to say something else when Quentin’s beta came into the
picture.
He must have been about to verify my identity but the Beta put a stop to it before he could even do
anything.
“I think that’s enough of you embarrassing my guest, no?”
There it was again. That awfully familiar voice. I turned to see Quentin making his way towards us.
There was something about the way he carried himself, like no one could touch him or even dare speak to him except he willed it.
When it came to aura, Quentin was untouchable. His lips were pressed into a thin line as he
regarded everybody.
Bella looked scared now, slowly backing away from both men. It wasn’t a surprise that she was intimidated by Quentin.
He used to be the main crush of all the noble maidens in the pack. They all gushed over him and
getting to be his mate was something all the women fantasized over.
But that was only a dream. Apart from being untouchable, he was also someone that barely ever let people get close to him, talk less of some maidens who were vying for his attention.
Right from when he was a child, he’d always been hard to get close to and barely treated girls right.
That alone pushed all of them away from him. At some point, none of them wanted to be his mate
anymore.
Quentin regarded me for a while before his gaze shifted to Bella who was standing awkwardly to the
side.
“You.” Her body stiffened. “You’re the daughter of the Silver Moon’s Alpha, aren’t you?”
She slowly nodded her head, a look of nervousness evident on her face. He hummed a small
dismissal noise.
“Pay attention to your manners outside. It is not fitting of you to act so rudely in public.” He said, not bothering to hide his disdain for her.
Any fear that had been on her face completely disappeared. She sent me a weak glare before turning back to Quentin.

“What? Is it wrong if what I said was the truth? She wasn’t let into the club and I simply made a comment about that. I see no wrong in that.” She folded her arms.
“Oh yeah?” Quentin’s eye s narrowed on her.
She turned back to me. “I’m not surprised since she betrayed her formal mate. Must have been because you couldn’t keep your legs shut. Always running from man to man.”
Quentin’s eyes read pure murder as he glared at Bella. Once she saw the look on her face, her whole body began to tremble.
If she looked scared a few moments back, she seemed utterly terrified now. The coldness of Quentin’s glare would have been enough to freeze her on the spot.
She looked at a loss for words now, the confidence she had just a while ago completely gone.
“Say that again. I didn’t hear you so well the last time.” He said coldly.
