Till death do we part) Chapter 12

The wedding became a funeral. Jax stood numbly by Serenity’s coffin, as if
he were the dead one.
“Mr. Landry, I’m really sorry for your loss.”
Jax heard it over and over again. Everyone who came to pay their respects
looked at him with regret…
Rain poured down. Jax knelt before Serenity’s grave, his hand trembling as
he touched her name. He pressed his forehead against the stone.
“Serenity, I’m sorry…”
He locked himself in his room, drinking heavily to drown his sorrow. He
hoped to to see Serenity in his dreams, but she never came.
He threw down another empty bottle. A hand picked it up.
“Jax, why are you drinking so much?”
He looked up. In a daze, he saw a white figure. Serenity?
“Serenity?” He stumbled up, hugging her.“You’re back! I missed you so much!”
The woman in his arms whimpered.“Jax, it’s me, Rylee.”

It was like a hammer hitting Jax out of illusion. He released Rylee, his eyes
shifting from disgust to hatred. He grabbed her neck. “Rylee, you son of a bitch!”
He threw her onto the sofa. Rylee winced.
“Jax, what’s wrong?”
Jax’s eyes were cold. “I warned you to stay away from her! But you provoked
her again and again! You drove her to suicide!”
Rylee knelt down with a pale face. “I’m sorry! I did that for our child. I don’t
want him to be a bastard!”
He looked at her, his disgust rising. Then, he knelt, lifting her chin.
“I’ll forgive you.”
Rylee stopped crying, her eyes lighting up. She was right! He loved her and
wouldn’t let her cry.
However, the next second, he said, “As long as you atone for your sins with
your death.”
