“Be still, we only want your money!” one of the robbers snarled, his voice rough and impatient.
I quickly reached into my bag, pulling out the cash I had just withdrawn.
“Here,” I said, my voice steady as I handed it over. “Take it. All of it.”
The robber snatched the money and briefly counted it, his face hardening with dissatisfaction.
It wasn’t enough for them. He shoved the gun against my temple, his voice dripping with menace.

I stared at the black hole of the gun’s barrel, the sense of death looming inches from me.
My heart raced, but I kept my voice calm.
“Alright. But you have to promise not to hurt them,” I gestured toward the warriors. “We’ll go to the bank. I’ll get more.”
The robber leaned In, his face uncomfortably close.
“No tricks,” he hissed before he bent down and climbed into the back seat, pulling the warrior from the passenger side out of the car.
Another robber took his place, pointing a gun directly at the driver. “Drive!” he ordered harshly.
The driver looked back at me, obviously waiting for me to make a decision.
“Don’t be afraid, Elizabeth.” Lena’s voice sounded in my head, gentle and steady, “Think about what you learned at the Academy. This is just the right time to be able to use it, isn’t it? I can feel that soon we’ll have a chance to fight back.”
With the gun pressed into my waist, fear didn’t completely overwhelm me.
Instead, my mind was working, calculating the right moment to act.
**I need to fight back, but when?**
I knew that even though regular bullets wouldn’t easily kill a werewolf, being shot at point blank range wouldn’t end well either.
As if sensing my thoughts, the robber smirked and said coldly, “Don’t try anything funny. I know who you are, hybrid. These bullets? They’re special, designed just for creatures like you. We came prepared.”
**Special bullets? How did they get their hands on those?**
I wondered, but there was no time to dwell on that as the car pulled up to the bank.
“Move!”
The robber growled, pushing me out of the car and covering the gun with his jacket to hide it from view.
He pressed the barrel firmly against my back as he guided me toward the ATM.
I turned briefly to check on the warrior who was still being held at gunpoint.
His eyes were wide with panic, his face contorted with frustration.
He couldn’t protect me like he was supposed to, and that made him hate himself. I could see it.
“I have to act soon.”
We approached a flight of stairs leading to the ATM.
I seized the opportunity, deliberately stumbling as I took the first step and falling hard onto the ground.

“You? Shoot me? You’re just a little girl,” he sneered, stepping closer.

That’s when I saw him- Leostanding a few paces away with his silver pistol raised, eyes locked onto mine.
A heavy thud came from behind me, and I whirled around.
Another man, a larger figure who had been sneaking up on me, lay motionless on the ground, two bullet holes expertly placed in his arm and leg.
We had both fired at the same time, taking out the attackers with perfect precision.
Bright red blood soaked into the pavement from their wounds, staining the ground.
My breath came in ragged bursts as I backed up against the wall for cover, adrenaline flooding my veins.
My heart was racing, pounding so hard I thought it might burst from my chest.
