There was a brief silence on the other end of the phone. “Are you serious?“.
He paused for a few seconds, as though considering something. “Alright”

He chuckled softly, asking in a low voice. “Are you sure you won’t regret it?”

“Then that’s settled. I’ll sign the contract and return in three days.”
Just then, Ben White walked in from the garden, his voice laced with curiosity. “What was that about won’t regret on the phone just now?”
I smiled faintly. “It was a friend’s call discussing pre–wedding preparations. A lot of people say there’s always a bit of regret before getting married.”
I paused, then looked him in the eye. “What about you? Will you regret marrying me?
He froze for a moment, his gaze shifting, deliberately changing the subject. “How’s the wedding preparation going?”
A bitter wave surged in my chest.
In fact, from the day he proposed, I had tried repeatedly to discuss the details of the wedding with him.

Bit in that moment, a familiar scent of freesia wafted towards me it was Yuna’s signature perfume.

“Nothing just a little tired,” I murmured.
He gently comforted me. “You’ve been working so hard. Don’t worry too much. Let me take you back to rest.”
I looked at him and hesitantly asked, “Aren’t you going home?”
He froze for a moment, then laughed.
“Oh…some customs say that before the wedding, the couple should stay apart, for good luck. You want us to have a smooth future, don’t you??
His words made me scoff inwardly.

He never intended to have any “future” with me.
In the end, the so called future, marriage, and commitment were just lies to soothe me, to keep me cooperating
As for the so called “custom,” it was nothing more than a subtle warning from Yuna
