Alpha’s Redemption The Rise of the Rejected Luna 43

Chapter 43

Lena’s face twisted again, but this time, it was more from hurt than anger

She looked like she wanted to argue, to defend her son, but she didn’t

Instead, she stood up quickly, wiped her tears with the back of her hand, and stormed out without saying another word

The door slammed behind her, leaving the room in tense silence

I let out a long breath, feeling both relieved and drained. That woman will never listen to reason,I muttered

as shook his head. Let her be. She’ll have to face reality sooner or later.”

We decided to leave the hospital once we were sure Billy’s condition was stable and Lena was with him

There wasn’t much more we could do there. Silas had pressing matters to handle at the company and within the pack, while I just wanted to go home and try to find some peace

I’ll take my car,Silas said, giving me a brief nod. I’ll see you at home later.”

Alright.I replied, heading toward the car waiting for me outside

As I approached the vehicle, something feltoff

The driver wasn’t the usual oneSilasbeta usually handled my rides. This man wore a cap pulled low over his face and a mask that obscured most of

his features

I hesitated, my instincts telling me something was wrong. Where’s Jason?I asked

The man didn’t respond, only opened the car door and gestured for me to get in

Jason usually drives me,I said, my voice firmer this time

I was told to fill in today,he replied curtly, his voice muffled

Something about his tone sent a chill down my spine, but I told myself I was being paranoid. Silas would have sent someone trustworthy. Wouldn’t he

Reluctantly, I got into the car. As we pulled away from the hospital, I kept my eyes on the road, trying to calm the unease growing in my chest

But the route he was taking wasn’t familiar. Instead of heading toward the packhouse, we were driving further and further away from the city. The streets grew quieter, the buildings fewer, until we were on a deserted road surrounded by empty fields

Where are you going?I asked sharply

No answer

I said, where are you taking me?I demanded, my voice louder now

Still, no response

My heart began to pound. Turn this car around right now!”

He ignored me, his hands steady on the wheel

I reached for the door handle, intending to jump out, but it wouldn’t budge. Locked. Panic surged through me as I realized the child safety locks were

  1. on

Let the out!I screamed, pounding on the windows. Let me out of this car!”

The driver said nothing. He pulled the car to a stop in the middle of nowhere and stepped out. I fumbled with the locks, my breath coming in quick gasps, I couldn’t get out

Before I could think of another plan, the door flew open, and the driver lunged at me

Chapter 43

I tried to fight him off, kicking and scratching, but he was too strong

He pressed a cloth over my mouth and nose, and a sickly sweet smell filled my senses

No!I tried to scream, but the gas was too strong. My vision blurred, and my limbs grew heavy

The last thing I saw before darkness claimed me was the shadowy figure of the driver standing over me

I woke up with a jolt, gasping as cold water splashed over my face

My head throbbed, and my vision was blurry as I tried to figure out where I was. The cool wetness dripped down my cheeks and neck, snapping me

out of the haze

My arms and legs ached, and as I tried to move, I realized I couldn’t. My wrists were tied tightly to a wooden post behind me, and ropes bound my

kles

Blinking to clear my vision, I looked around. I was in a small, dimly lit cabin

The smell of wood and damp air filled my nose, along with something faintly metallicblood, perhaps

My eyes locked onto a figure standing before me

Lena?I croaked, my voice weak and raspy

She was holding an empty basin, clearly the one she had just used to douse me. Her eyes were cold, filled with anger and hatred

Why did you do this?I asked, my voice trembling Why have you kidnapped me?”

Lena’s face twisted into a cruel smirk, but then her expression darkened

Without warning, she raised her hand and slapped me hard across the face. The sting spread instantly, leaving my cheek burning

You really don’t know, do you?she hissed, her voice dripping with venom. You not only have the same disgusting face as Rowena, but you’re just like

her

You’re doing the same nasty, manipulative things she did. You’ll do anything to take what doesn’t belong to you.”

Her words struck me like blows, but I held her gaze

I’ve never done anything to you, Lena,I said, my voice shaking but firm, You’re angry at the wrong person. I’m not Rowena. I’m not trying to take anything from you.”

Liar!she screamed, her voice echoing in the small space. You think I don’t see what you’re doing? You think I don’t know how Silas looks at you? You’ve been threatening my place in his life since the day you arrived. But not anymore. I’m going to end this now.”

Panic surged through me as I watched her walk over to the corner of the room and pick up a metal can

The sharp smell of gasoline hit me instantly. My stomach churned as she began pouring the liquid around the cabin, soaking the wooden floor
