I let out a sigh, handing the phone back.
“It doesn’t matter. I wasn’t planning on staying hidden forever.”
Gregor’s eyes widened in surprise, his face lighting up with excitement.

“Yes,” I interrupted with a smile.
“The main reason I stayed low–key before was to keep my adoptive parents off my back. If they’d found out I was racing again, they would have locked me up. I told them I was out working–no way could they have known about this. But now… I’m ready.”
