Chapter 9
After some back and forth, Ponto Spencer and I were officially divorced. In the same day, with my encouragement, he and Fenny Chow also registered
their marriage.
When I returned home with the house cleaning company to collect my things, Ponto was out for work, leaving only Fenny at home. I walked into the walk–in closet, only to find her trying on my jewelry. As soon as she saw me, her face twisted into a frown.
“What are you doing here? This is my home now. You better believe I’ll call the cops if you try to take anything,” she snapped.
I rolled my eyes. “Your home, yes, but these things are mine.”
Then took out the divorce agreement, where every piece of jewelry was listed in detail. Fenny’s face darkened, but she bit her lip and forced a smile. “I don’t even want these things. So what if the agreement favors you? If I want them, Ponto will buy me more. I can have as much as I want.” Despite her bravado, I could see her face falter as each piece of jewelry was taken away. I couldn’t help but chuckle. I had heard she refused to let Ponto buy her a diamond ring to prove how “genuine” her love was
“Don’t speak too arrogantly,” I said with a smirk. “You think Ponto can afford these? Not to mention some of these items are priceless, and even if he could buy them, Pouto Spencer doesn’t have the ability to afford them.”
Fenny shot back, “Don’t try to fool me. I’ve already done my research. This is the Spencer family. Ponto Spencer isn’t some kind of parasite–he has his own company, his own business. He’s a real millionaire ”
I nodded casually. True, Ponta is not a parasite. But the term ‘millionaire‘ is only temporary. Without me, he’ll go bankrupt soon enough.”
I paused for effect, knowing this would hit home. “But I’m sure that doesn’t matter to you. After all, you love Punto Spencer for the man, not his
money.”
