Chapter 6
Dat as it turned out, I was overthinking
Just half an hour before the civil affairs Jairean closed, a luxurious Rolls Royce pulled up in front of me. The driver, wearing white gloves, respectfully escorted James, Yuri, and Linda mu of the car.
At that moment, my eyes almost burned from the blinding display,
The three of them had undergone a complete transformation. They looked like they had just gone on a shopping spree. It seemed they had been out shopping for hours before coming here.
i struggled to carry a large number of items, including three jade bracelets, four gold hangles, two gold chains, and a string of Buddhist prayer beads, all while holding a new Chanel handbag, Seeing my stunned expression, she smiled snugly. “Thanks to you for reminding us, we almost forgot We can spend the money in advance.”
She smirked. “But let me tell you, spending money feels really good”
James cleared his throat and proudly flashed his gold watch. “Mom, why are you talking so much with her?”
He then turned to me. “Come on, let’s go sign the papers. I still need to pick up the lottery money. Don’t waste my time.”
Linda also smiled, waving a hand in front of me. “This diamond ring. I just glanced at it, and James insisted on buying it for me. I heard you didn’t even have a diamond ring when you got married, sister. Maybe you should take a look too, just to feel like you once had one.”
Seeing
how the three of them were dressed, it looked like they had spent at least a million. I suspected that James and Yuri had maxed out every credit card they could get their hands or
I couldn’t even imagine how they’d handle paying it all back when they found out they hadn’t actually won.
Unable to contain myself, I blurted out. “You’ve spent way too much. Aren’t you worried about not being able to pay it back?”
Yuri shot me a glare. “Three billion, even if we spend like this every day, it’ll last us a lifetime. Why don’t you mind your own business?”
