Sera spun around, seeing Julian’s shocked expression. The moment she hung up, he lunged forward, grabbing her hand.“Sera, who’s immigrating?!”
She remained impassive.“A college friend of mine. She’s moving abroad and wanted to have a farewell dinner.”
Perhaps her calmness reassured him. He didn’t suspect her of lying, but he still pulled her into a hug, his voice trembling.“I thought it was you. You scared me.”

His anxiety seemed to intensify. For the next few days, he remained glued to her. He even took her to a private club which was newly opened by his friend.
