He stared intently at the spot where the yacht docked on the island. After seeing who had arrived, he averted his gaze and wheeled himself forward.
“Happy New Year, little Cherise! he said joyfully, wheeling himself along.
Cherise smiled back, “Happy New Year to you too, Ms. Garcia, and may you have good health.”
Morris carried two bags and, upon seeing the elderly man in the wheelchair, remembered the scene from that day on the way back to Saphira.
The person before him, Cherise’s mentor, was the old man who had greeted him from the front seat of the car that day.
He thought, ‘No wonder he could be Cherise’s mentor. And this little island is a place even billionaires can’t purchase. This old man must be at a master’s level.
He also stepped forward and politely nodded to Carson, who was sitting in a wheelchair. “Happy New Year, Ms. Garcia! I’m. Morris Chivers, nice to meet you!”

But not here. The Jarrett residence was a prestigious place, like a royal residence in ancient times.
Being invited was a coveted status symbol, so they didn’t mind the few minutes of inspection at all. Even the guests nodded and bowed to the guards. The scene was both lively and funny.

The speaker was Jean, the only blood–related junior in the Jarrels family besides Morris. The ‘Mr. Jarrett‘ she mentioned was Arthur, the leader of Clusia.
Mary dressed festively today and playfully poked Jean’s forehead. “You little rascal! What’s wrong with Arthur coming over? I haven’t even seen him face–to–face at all this year. I am his biological mother. I’d be thrilled if he came.
The elderly man sitting on the sofa gave a couple of soft coughs Ahem, ahem, that’s why I say, you all should try reading more books in your free time, then you won’t feel so bored.
“You’re all too soft–hearted. Arthur is constantly busy every day. Now that it’s the New Year, he should be out there keeping the people and the country in his thoughts.

He got up and walked in front, with Jean holding Mary’s hand, following behind.
Jean patted Mary’s hand, saying, “Grandma, have you seen a picture of Morris’s wife? There are plenty online. I’ve seen them, and she’s quite beautiful. But I don’t know about her character or other aspects.
“I’ve heard some not–so–good things, but you know, hearing is unreliable. It’s better to meet her in person to know for sure “Don’t you think so, Grandma? Grandma, what’s wrong? Why are you spaced out, looking tired? Are you okay?”
When Mary heard the words “Morris’s wife,” she thought of the photo again, feeling a bit uneasy, though she knew they weren’t the same person.
She sneered, “I don’t know. You’re just a kid. What do you understand? Let’s see how it goes first.”
