Chapter 78
THE MORNING after their stay at the hotel, they wasted no time and returned to North. As soon as they arrived, they were welcomed by the servants, but when Alpha Perez ordered them to gather their new warriors, it caused a stir among the members. Even Jarren and Priscilla were surprised by the abrupt change in Alpha Perez’s behavior.
“What’s going on?” Beta Jarren asked his worry since yesterday was still present in his eyes.
“Serena was missing, she ran away,” his answer made everyone who heard it gasp audibly,
“Alexia admitted that Serena had visited the hospital last week and ever since then, she’s been acting strange. I have no clue what’s happening.”
“U–Uhm Alpha, last week… I saw Luna Serena heading towards the pack’s physician. Perhaps he had some knowledge on the matter.” One of the lower–ranked maids cautiously raised her hand, feeling intimidated by Alpha Perez’s stern expression. It reminded her of how he used to be before lie inarried their Luna.
“Call him,” he spoke with a commanding tone, but not in a threatening manner. The maid nodded and hurried to the infirmary as the sun began setting.
“Wait, a–are you sure she ran away? I don’t think she can do that Priscilla stammered, finding it hard to believe that her sister–in–law would do something like that. Especially with her brother’s birthday just around the corner. “You two were getting along great last week. Did you guys have a sudden fight?”
“No, fuck! I have no idea.” Alpha Perez cursed, trying to come up with an explanation that made sense. However, the only thing that seemed to fit was her recent trip to the hospital.
“What if she heard us talking that day?” Beta Jarren chimed in, causing them to turn to him, “When we were talking about your plans, what if she overheard it?”
A chill ran down Alpha Perez’s spine as a cold sensation enveloped his body. His expression grew grim as he recalled the day when Serena disappeared, and she claimed that she went for a stroll because the weather was pleasant
“Alpha, the doctor’s here.” The maid returned with the doctor in tow, a worried expression etched on his face as he learned about the sudden disappearance of their Luna.
“I heard my wife visited you last week, what was the reason?” His tone was forceful, leaving no room for the doctor to fulfill his promise to the Luna to hide the truth. So, with a deep breath, he decided to be honest because he knew the secret would be revealed no matter what.
“She asked for consultation because she hadn’t been feeling well lately. She said there had been moments where she’d experienced sudden dizziness and nausea. That morning, she was eating fine but ended up vomiting everything she had eaten for breakfast…” the doctor explained, causing Alpha Perez’s face to drain of color as he already had an idea of what might have happened.
“I think the Luna is pregnant.”
As the words left the doctor’s mouth, Alpha Perez felt like his entire world had stopped. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Pregnant? His mate was pregnant?
Beta Jarren and Priscilla exchanged glances, both of them wide–eyed with shock. None of them had expected this news. They had all assumed that Serena’s sudden disappearance was due to some misunderstanding or a fight between her and
her mate.
But now, it seemed like there was a much bigger reason behind her leaving without a word.
Time seemed to stand still as Alpha Perez tried to comprehend the doctor’s words. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t wrap
his head around it. It wasn’t until he remembered the question Serena had asked him at the cliff that it all

clicked into place. She had asked if he had considered having an heir, and what had his response been?
He clenched his teeth, filled with frustration as he remembered the exact words he had spoken to her. It all made semne now, if Serena was truly pregnant and had overheard his conversation with Peta Jarren that day, the must have felt like their child would be a hindrance to his plans. That could explain why the ran away and chone to keep the pregnancy hidden from him.
“Fuck” He curved himself for not being more careful with his words, knowing how sensitive Serena could be.
He decided that he needed to find her immediately and apologize for everything, He couldn’t let her run away and raise their child alone, especially when they were supposed to be building a family together.
When the new warriors arrived, he immediately ordered them to find his wife, if they needed to make posters to make the search faster, he was willing to give some money to someone who could point where Serena was.
However, his birthday had already passed but there was still no news regarding her. Every day, he was becoming more and more restless, fearing for her safety and the safety of their unborn child.
As weeks turned into months, Alpha Perez’s desperation grew with every passing day. He couldn’t focus on his duties as an Alpha, constantly worrying about his wife and what might have happened to her. He would often sneak out of the packhouse to search for her, using all of his connections in the werewolf world to gather information about Serena’s whereabouts.
But despite all of his efforts, there was still no trace of Serena. It was like she had vanished into thin air, leaving no clues or evidence behind. The pack searched high and low, but their Luna seemed to have disappeared without a trace.
Alpha Perez even kneeled in front of Alpha Robert to make him talk, but it was still no use. He was starting to lose hope.
“We can’t keep being like this, we need to execute our plan, or else, everything we worked for will go to waste.” Beta Jarren said as he looked at his friend. The lines under his eyes had deepened, a clear indication of how stressed he was about the situation.
Alpha Perez looked at him with confusion
“What are you talking about?” he asked, feeling lost.
Beta Jarren let out a sigh before explaining their plan to get rid of the Alpha King as it seemed he had already lost sight of their goal. He also reminded Alpha Perez that the King’s pack was growing in numbers and power, and it was only a matter of time before they made their move. And before that happens, they need to attack first.
“But I can’t do that right now,” Alpha Perez sighed, “I need to find Serena-”
He wasn’t able to finish his words when Beta Jarren punched him in the face, causing him to fall backward onto the ground.
“Enough with this foolishness! You’ve been searching for your wife for months now and still have nothing to show for it. Meanwhile, our enemy is growing stronger by the day.” With a fierce glint in his eye, Beta Jarren towered over Alpha Perez, his fists clenched at his sides. The air was thick with tension and the scent of blood. He knew what he did was harsh, but his friend needed it to make his mind snap out of its misery and get back to his senses.
Alpha Perez rubbed his jaw where he had been punched, feeling a mix of pain and anger at his friend’s actions. But deep down, he knew that Beta Jarren was right. He couldn’t continue to put his personal issues above the safety and well–being of his pack.
“We need to get rid of the Alpha king first, that way when we find Luna Serena, you’ll be able to live without worrying about potential threats!”
Alpha Perez nodded in agreement, finally coming to his senses. They needed to prioritize the good of their pack and getting rid of their enemy was crucial.
As they discussed their plan, Alpha Perez couldn’t help but think about his wife and unborn child. He prayed that they were

safe and promised himself that once this was all over, he would do everything in his power to find them.

The next day, Alpha Perez called for a meeting with all of the pack members and those who were under his command. He explained the situation and their plan to attack the Alpha King’s pack before they made a move. The announcement was met with mixed reactions, some were hesitant while others were ready for battle.
But despite their doubts and fears, Alpha Perez’s words resonated with everyone. They all knew that this was necessary for the safety of their pack.
They spent the next few days strategizing and preparing for the attack. And finally, on a full moon night, when their powers were at their strongest, they made their move.
