Chapter 64
“WOW, what a shameless bitch.” Priscilla commented before turning her head towards her brother who pushed his chair back and stood up.
“Bring the food to my study; my wife and I would eat there since I don’t want her breathing the same air as that wench,” He spat the words out, his voice dripping with disgust as he directed a glare towards Marga. He then offered his hand to Serena, who eagerly took it, and the two of them exited the dining hall together. The maids swiftly scurried to prepare their breakfast and bring it to the study, following their Alpha’s orders.
At that moment, Gamma Taylor, Beta Jarren, and Priscilla also got up to leave. They called over the maid and requested for their food to be served elsewhere before exiting the dining hall, leaving Marga sitting alone at the table like an outcast. She clenched her teeth, feeling the urge to cry from frustration, but she suppressed her emotions and swallowed the lump in her throat.
In order to survive and protect her mother, she had to be resilient. The Alpha King was not one to spare those who gave up easily. She had three tasks to complete: spy on Alpha Perez, break his relationship with Serena, and spark a war between the Blood Moon pack and the King’s pack.
But her mission was not going as planned because Alpha Perez refused to be in the same room as her making it difficult for her to gather information. Just then, she recalled last night’s events, and she couldn’t contain her frustration any longer. She grabbed a plate and threw it to the ground, shattering it into pieces that scattered across the floor. The sound made the servants flinch, but she didn’t care.
Marga stormed out of the dining hall, her fists clenched and her heart racing with anger. She felt like a pawn in this game, being used by the King for his own agenda. And worst of all, she was starting to feel depressed. She thought her life was getting better when the King took her in, but things just became complicated for her.
“UGH!! I can’t believe the audacity of that woman!” Priscilla clenched her jaw, the mere thought of what happened in the dining hall enough to make her want to yank out her own hair in frustration. She was trying not to dwell on it, but it was impossible. “I want to kill her!”
Relax,” Beta Jarren wrapped his arm around her waist, attempting to soothe her nerves as they sat on the sofa of his study after finishing their meal.
“How could I relax when that shameless woman gets on my nerves? Can’t we just kill her and make it seem like she killed herself?” she suggested, trying to keep her temper in check but failing miserably.
“We both know that’s not possible. Our pack has been weakened by the infected rogues, and we can’t risk getting into a war.” He reasoned, knowing that Marga was intentionally trying to provoke them in order to cause harm and escalate the conflict.
“I hate what was happening, I hope this ends soon.” Priscilla pressed her lips together while Beta Jarren gently rubbed her back, trying to comfort her.
“Don’t worry, you know there’s no obstacle our pack won’t overcome together.” He wrapped his arms around her, drawing- her close as she rested her head on his shoulder. She let out a small sigh of contentment, feeling safe and loved in his arms.
Suddenly, she lifted her head and pressed her lips against his, surprising him with the bold move. He was taken aback but quickly responded, pulling her closer and deepening the kiss.
They had shared this intense intimacy before, but it always felt new and electrifying. The anticipation of what could come next fueled their desire, especially since they had yet to make love. All they did was make out whenever they were alone, bur it never progressed to anything more because Beta Jarren always stopped before things became too heated. She could feel the restraint in his touch and knew how much he was holding back.
Since she was the Alpha’s sister and he was friends with his brother, Beta Jarren made the decision to marry her before engaging in intercourse or any intimate activities aside from kissing. And Priscilla respected his choice even though she wanted him so badly.

One of the reasons why–she was so frustrated with Marga was because her presence within the pack only made their current issue drag on. And the longer it went unresolved, the more Jarren would delay proposing to her.
Ever since she stumbled upon the ring in Jarren’s study, she had been eagerly anticipating his proposal. However, with their pack facing numerous challenges and obstacles, the perfect timing for him to pop the question never seemed to come
“Shall we go? We still need to visit the neighboring pack.” He pulled away from the kiss, both breathless as they stared at each
other.
“We still have an hour,” Priscilla reasoned as her eyes landed on his pants that were bulging. The sight aroused her in ways that she’d never experienced before, and she had to resist the urge to rip them open. “Should I help you with the?”
Beta Jarren’s eyes widened in surprise, and he quickly shot up from his seat, adjusting his glasses with a flick of his fingers before turning around.
“No, it would go down soon.” he cleared his throat, feeling slightly embarrassed due to the fact that she caught him in the act of having a sexual attraction to her. “I’m going to the bathroom for a bit.”
“Okay,” Priscilla giggled, knowing full well what he was going to do.
Beta Jarren then quickly made his way to the bathroom, closing the door behind him. He leaned against the sink, trying to calm down his raging hormones. Being around Priscilla always stirred up his desires, but he had made a promise to himself and her that he would wait until they were married before taking things further.
But with every passing day, it was becoming harder for him to resist her. Her scent, her touch, her very presence ignited a fire inside him that he couldn’t control. He splashed some cold water on his face, trying to cool down his heated body. It didn’t help much, and he knew he had to get a grip on himself before going back out there.
After a few more minutes, Beta Jarren finally felt like he was in control again and headed back out. As soon as he opened the door, Priscilla’s eyes immediately landed on him, and he could see the desire flickering in them.
Suppressing a groan, Beta Jarren quickly took his seat next to her and focused all of his attention on the list of the neighboring packs they would visit today.
Meanwhile, after eating with Alpha Perez, Serena returned to her study. They then both went about their duties and spent most of the afternoon in silence. Thankfully, the snowstorm had subsided, allowing the warriors to resume their training while others went on patrol.
“Luna?” The head maid knocked, causing her to stop writing and look over at the door.
“Yes? come in.” she and the head maid entered the study, “What’s the matter?”
“The merchant had arrived,” She answered politely, and Serena immediately stood up, following the head maid to the drawing room, where the merchant was waiting. As soon as she entered, the merchant bowed respectfully and smiled at her before she approached him.
“I wasn’t expecting you to bring the bullets today. I figured it would take another week or two for them to arrive. Serena took a seat in front of him and requested the head maid to prepare some coffee and dessert for their guest
“I heard what happened to the blood moon pack, so I wanted to expedite this transaction in case you need it sooner rather than lat-” The merchant’s reply was cut short as his attention was abruptly drawn towards the door. Serena turned to see who had arrived, expecting it to be the head maid, but her eyebrows furrowed in confusion when Marga simply entered the room without knocking.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Serena inquired, and the mail standing behind Marga immediately lowered her head in a bow. The bruise on the maid’s face caught Serena’s attention, causing her to widen her eyes in shock. It was clear that her half–sister was mistreating her designated servant.
“I apologize, Luna. I was not able to prevent Miss Marga from entering the room because she was adamant about wanting s

“It’s all right, you can go,” Serena let out a weary sigh as she watched Marga gracefully approach the sofa and settle in beside her. She then looked at the merchant sitting across from them, completely unaware of the intense tension between the two
women.
“I’m going to check them later; for now, you can enjoy your snacks and be on your way. If there are any issues with the items, I’ll let you know,” she said cautiously, not wanting Marga to find out about their purchase of a silver bullet. If word gets back to the king, it could jeopardize their ability to obtain special bullets in the future. And that was something they couldn’t risk.
Not long after, the merchant finished his coffee and dessert before leaving. Once he was gone, she turned to Marga, her expression stern.
“What is it that you wanted to talk about?” Serena asked, hoping to keep their conversation short and civil, but she knew full well that was impossible to happen, not when she was talking to Marga, “I’m busy so don’t beat around the bush-”
“Why hasn’t Alpha Perez marked you yet?”
