THE SOUND of Alpha Perez’s laughter filled the room, causing Serena’s face to turn a bright shade of red. He then affectionately patted her head and smiled at her.
“I was only joking; I know you’re probably not in the mood for it. Let’s just head to bed early tonight; you must be exhausted.” He leaned in and gently kissed her forehead. As he went to turn away and prepare for bed, Serena tugged at his shirt, preventing him from leaving.
“I have a lot weighing on my mind, so I doubt I will be able to fall asleep this early,” she muttered, feeling embarrassed by her actions but unable to stop herself. “And I’m not actually tired from our trip earlier, so how about tiring me out tonight?”
Her suggestion sent a thrill through Alpha Perez’s body, causing his finger to twitch and a shiver to run down his spine. He couldn’t resist the dangerous allure of this side of her, despite knowing the potential consequences. Serena gazed up at him, waiting for his reply, but it quickly changed to surprise when he suddenly pulled her close and kissed her. His large hand gently cupped her face while the other held her by the waist with a possessive grip, pulling her in close to him.

“I like your suggestion but wearing you out may not be the best idea. We plan to check out of this hotel tomorrow and travel to a different city.” He leaned in close and whispered into her ear in a low, seductive voice, causing Serena to feel a rush of tingling sensations throughout her body. He then gazed into her eyes while caressing her cheeks.
“Why don’t we just relax and have a drink? Let go of all the worries that are weighing on you.” Alpha Perez smiled, torn between his desire to make love with her and tire her out as she wanted, and his concern that she might feel sore tomorrow and need to rest instead of traveling through the territories under his care.
“We can make love once, too so you can sleep better,” he added, causing Serena to giggle and nod, liking the idea he had just proposed.
“Okay.” She nodded in agreement before her husband helped her off the table. “Can I soak in the bath first?”
“Why don’t we go together? We can enjoy some drinks while we take a bath. What do you think of that idea?” Alpha Perez gently held Serena’s face in his hands, and she grinned, leaning into his touch.
“Yeah, I like that,” she replied, and with that, they fulfilled their tasks: Serena prepared the bath, while Alpha Perez ordered the drinks. With everything ready, they shed their clothes and slipped into the luxurious tub together. Alpha Perez reclined against the edge of the tub as Serena leaned back against him, both sipping from glasses of rich red wine,
They sat there quietly, enjoying each other’s company, but the silence was broken when Serena spoke.
“It suddenly occurs to me that my father’s birthday is approaching…” She trailed off as she twirled her glass and sipped her wine, “Thave a strong intuition that they will extend an invitation for us to join in on the celebration.”
“If they invited us, would you want to attend?” Alpha Perez leaned in and kissed the back of her shoulder before refilling his wine glass.
“Well, I think my father’s party would be the best place to reveal the information we had just learned earlier,” Serena answered, taking another sip of her wine.

The mere thought of it already brought a sense of satisfaction, even though it hadn’t happened yet. Just imagining the reactions on everyone’s faces, especially Marga’s, filled her with excitement. Now, she could slap the truth on her face that she didn’t take anything from her because it was never truly hers to begin with.

“Sounds like a good plan.” Alpha Perez remarked and Serena laughed, agreeing with his comment. “The more witnesses, the better. It would be simple yet destructive revenge.”
MEANWHILE, inside the Crescent Packhouse, Luna Emilia paced back and forth while nervously nibbling on her thumb. It had been months since she sent some of her warriors to the North to locate her former lover, Matthias. However, despite her efforts, there had been no word from them about his whereabouts. With Marga set to become the new Luna soon, she was desperate to make sure everything went seamlessly or else, things could quickly become complicated, especially since Marga was not a legitimate successor.
If she knew things would turn out like this, she would have responded to his letter from decades ago. But she was afraid of her mate discovering it, so she burned it, and all that remained in her memory was the address stating he was in the northern region.
“What if he wasn’t there anymore? It had been decades,” She muttered under her breath, lost in thought. Her pacing then was interrupted when a knock sounded on her office door, causing her to jump. She quickly stopped and composed herself as her husband entered the room.
“What are you doing?” Alpha Robert asked, seeing her standing in the middle of her office.
“I–I was pacing,” Luna Emilia answered before approaching him and wrapping her arms around him, but he didn’t reciprocate. Instead, he gently pushed her away by placing a hand on her shoulders, signaling for her to let go. “Were you still mad at me? It’s been months,”
“No matter how much time passes, your actions cannot change the fact that you attempted to damage your daughter’s reputation.” His frown deepened as he thought about his wife’s actions months ago. Until now, he still couldn’t believe she had tried to shift the blame onto Serena, making it seem like she had cheated first in order to protect Marga and Calix’s reputation.
“I just did whatever I could for our oldest child. Marga has already experienced hardship living in the slums-”
“That doesn’t excuse the fact that you deliberately used Serena as a scapegoat. Stop tolerating Marga’s wrongdoing!” Alpha Robert’s voice was brimming with fury as he recalled the intense rage he felt upon learning of his younger daughter’s cheating scandal months ago and discovering that Luna Emilia was the mastermind behind it.
He immediately regretted kicking Serena out of the pack house without hearing her side of the story. He even sent some warriors to search for her, but to his surprise, he found her at the palace. He was relieved to see her and ready to make amends for kicking her out of the pack. However, he soon found out she was already part of the Blood Moon pack and was engaged to Alpha Perez. To make matters worse, Emilia and Marga caused a scene that ruined everything.
He had no doubt in his mind that Serena would never forgive him, regardless of his remorse. And it was all because of the stupidity of his wife and eldest daughter.
“Come on, don’t be hars-”
“Stop, I don’t want to hear it and I’m not here to talk about that. Alpha Robert let out a frustrated sigh, “I’ve heard that sent some of your warriors to the north, what are you up to this time?”

“I–I only wanted to watch out for Serena and make sure she was doing well. I also felt guilty about what had happened, so at the very least, I could keep an eye on her. Y–you know Alpha Perez’s reputation isn’t as positive as the northern people perceive him.” She stumbled over her words, desperately hoping he would believe her fabricated
