AFTER TWO LONG MONTHS, Serena could finally breathe a sigh of relief as the wedding was only one day away. She had been juggling her duties as the future luna of Blood Moon and preparing for the wedding, all while training her combat skills with Gamma Taylor.
She had been working nonstop for the past few weeks, but every ounce of effort was paying off. She was exhausted, but it was all worth it.
During weekdays, she would dedicate her time to helping Priscilla with Luna duties. Once their tasks were completed, she would eagerly engage in conversations with Alpha Perez about their upcoming wedding plans. They discussed every detail, from the decorations to the guest list, reception menu, and even their dream honeymoon destination.
Despite his demanding schedule as an alpha, she was grateful that he always made time for her, just as he promised he would.
A warm, happy feeling always fluttered in Serena’s chest every time she watched Alpha Perez eagerly participate in planning their wedding. Unlike with Calix, where she had been the sole planner and decision–maker, Perez was fully invested in every detail of their special day.
The stark contrast between her past and present relationships was impossible to ignore. It only served to highlight how minimal Calix’s efforts had been, leaving her feeling unappreciated and unheard. But with her current partner, every decision they made together was a reflection of his dedication and love for her. Serena finally felt seen and valued in a way she never had before.
“Would you care to join me for a stroll in the garden and enjoy some fresh air?” Alpha Perez’s voice snapped Serena out of her thoughts, causing her to turn her head towards the balcony of her private study, knowing without a doubt that she would find him there.
After all, it had become a routine for him to appear unannounced, without fail, every day for the past two months. The only breaks in his visits were when he was away tending to pack business.
Everything she questioned him why he kept doing that, he would respond with a smile and say that looking at her was like recharging his energy. And his words never failed to send a warm tingle through Serena’s body, making her heart flutter.
She couldn’t deny that Alpha Perez had all the love language to make her feel special. Despite her previous doubts, it was becoming clear that she was developing genuine affection for him as they spent more time together.
Their bond also seemed to deepen with each passing day, like two puzzle pieces slowly fitting together to create a beautiful picture.
“Our studies weren’t even that far away from each other, yet you always make a point to enter at my balcony. Is the door some sort of display for you?” she asked with a playful tone, their level of comfort and familiarity increasing by leaps and bounds in the past few months.
“Well, I could see you right away when I used the balcony,” he answered shamelessly, stepping inside and leaning on her table while facing her. He then smiled softly as he brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. still working?”
‘s the big day, are you
“No, I just double–checked some details to make sure everything goes smoothly tomorrow,” she answered as her head tilted up to meet his gaze, watching him twirl a strand of her silver hair around his finger with a playful grin.
These small acts of affection, along with the occasional hug and kiss, had become a familiar routine for them. However, despite their comfortable physical intimacy, they had never crossed the boundary of sexual intercourse.
Despite having already mated before, he desired to wait until after the wedding to do it again with her, which surprised Serena because she could sense how much Alpha Perez longed to hold her in his
arms.
Every time they engaged in passionate kisses, he would always pull back before things went further, showcasing his

remarkable self–control–Serena couldn’t help but be amazed at his restraint and the depth of his love and respect for her. It was hard not to develop feelings for him.
“What? You’re staring at me like you want to eat me or something,”
Alpha Perez remarked, a playful glint in his eyes as he noticed Serena’s attention on his lips rather than his gaze. She couldn’t help but smile, feeling a sudden urge to tease him back.
“Well, will you let me eat you if I indeed want to?” Alpha Perez shuddered at her question, his heart racing as he tried to keep his composure.
He knew she was just teasing him, a playful act that had become a part of their close and comfortable relationship. Yet, even knowing this, he couldn’t help but feel a wave of emotion wash over him at her words. The way she could effortlessly make him feel so vulnerable and exposed amazed him every time.
“I will let you eat me tomorrow evening as much as your heart desires.” He playfully responded, causing Serena’s face to flush with embarrassment, though she was fully aware that he would retaliate with more teasing.
He reached out his hands towards her, his fingers delicately tracing the curve of her jaw before gently grasping her chin. Closing the distance between them, their noses brushed against each other in a gentle caress. The warm breaths from their parted lips mingled together, creating an intimate and sensual atmosphere that enveloped them both.
With a playful smirk, he finally pressed his lips softly against hers, sending shivers down her spine as they melted into each other in a gentle and passionate kiss.
“Shall we go for a stroll now? We might end up consummating our marriage before the actual ceremony.” He teased again as he pulled away causing Serena to laugh.
“Stop being silly,” she shook her head before standing up, “Let’s go,”
Alpha Perez nodded in agreement, and they exited her study. As they walked through the bustling corridors, the servants greeted them warmly and showed their respect for their presence.
When they arrived at the garden, a light breeze brushed against their faces, providing a gentle relief from the hot summer sun shining down on them. Despite the heat, it was a pleasant day for a stroll in the garden.
“Do you believe in the superstition that the groom and bride should not see each other before the wedding? Some say it’s because one of them might get cold feet and back out.” Serena inhaled deeply, relishing the cool breeze that caressed her skin and the sweet scent of flowers that filled her senses.
“No, of course not, that was absurd.” He laughed at the irony, knowing that his parents had been inseparable the night before their wedding based on the story they told, “Why do you ask? Did you follow that superstition with your first marriage?”
“Yeah,” Serena nodded, glancing at Alpha Pere
“My mother went to extreme measures to ensure that Calix and I would not see each other before the wedding, even going as far as locking me up.”
A soft chuckle escaped Serena’s lips, the memory of her past pain now nothing but a distant joke. But for Perez, it sounded like a grave injustice that needed to be avenged. As she thought back on her journey of healing, Serena realized that she had truly moved on from her painful past.
The weight that once burdened her heart and mind had been lifted, leaving behind a sense of peace and contentment. She laughed freely now, even when reminded of her darkest experiences. So, when Perez delivered the news that Marga and Calix had tied the knot last month, it didn’t stir any emotions within her.
It could be because she was aware of how her sister and ex–husband’s marriage reflected on Crescent Pack, or maybe she no longer cared as she had moved on entirely. Either way, Alpha Perez was proud of how far Serena had come in her healing journey.
“My mother once told me that she and my father slept together before their wedding day,” he said, sharing the silly story of

It was still uncomfortable discussing this with him, but out of all the pack members, Perez was the one he trusted most and needed to confide in about his feelings.
“I know. Why else would I trust you with my sister if I thought your feelings were shallow? I was simply trying to ease the tension, as it seems you feel uncomfortable around me now that you’re dating my sister.” Alpha Perez couldn’t help but chuckle.

He and Jarren had been friends for as long as he could remember, and they were practically like brothers. So, he didn’t want things to become awkward between them just because Jarren had developed romantic feelings for his sister.
“Promise to take care of her, alright? We may not always express sibling affection towards each other, but Priscilla is precious and important to me. She deserves true love and loyalty.” Alpha Perez’s voice took on a more serious tone, though a hint of gentleness still lingered behind his words.
“Both of you were dear to me, but if you betrayed her, that also means you betrayed me.” He added, “So if you come across your destined partner one day, and you can’t resist the undeniable connection between you two, I want you to end things with my sister amicably and without breaking her trust., understand?”
Alpha Perez stared at him intently, watching closely for any signs of discomfort or uneasiness. “I will tell the same to Priscilla because there was a chance that both your fated mates would show up in the middle of your relationship.”
Beta Jarren chuckled, understanding that his friend was attempting to assure him of his impartiality since both he and Priscilla held equal importance to him.
“I know, I’ve already thought about that carefully before confessing to Priscilla. And I understand your concern.” His smile stretched even wider as he placed his hand on Alpha Perez’s shoulder. They stared at each other; his eyes held an unwavering sincerity as he continued.
“Just as you were devoted and committed to your feelings for Serena, despite her not being your fated mate, I am also dedicated to your sister in the same way.” Beta Jarren offered reassurance to his friend, which caused Alpha Perez to smile and nod in complete trust of his words.
“That’s good to hear,” he said, patting his shoulder back in appreciation. “By the way, I called for you because I have something important to discuss with you along with Serena,”
“What is it?” Beta Jarren titled his head, wondering what it could be that Perez even personally came to his sister’s room to fetch him. He usually just used mind link to summon him so, what he did earlier was really out of character.
“Serena needed my help in awakening her inner wolf, and I proposed a plan where we would take turns training and monitoring her progress.” He explained before pausing for a moment and turning to face his beta, “We won’t start right away, but a few weeks after our wedding, I need you to make preparations and release some rogues from the dungeon. Then, take them to the woods for training.”
“What? That’s the way you’re going to help her? You’re aware that method of training is risky.” Beta Jarren immediately expressed his concern, feeling a sense of worry wash over him. He couldn’t believe that Perez would even consider such an option, knowing how much he treasured Serena.
The thought of releasing their captured rogues into the woods for training seemed incredibly foolish and risky, as it was the most dangerous form of training they could provide.
“I am fully aware of that, which is why I think it’s crucial for one of us to be present during her training in case any issues arise. I will ask for Taylor’s help, too.” Alpha Perez responded calmly before continuing on, “In order for Serena’s wolf to be fully awakened, she needed to be in
a situation of constant danger where her life was at stake. That was the only perfect way to trigger her wolf’s awakening.”

his parents, “She said that my father clung to her the entire night, afraid that she might have a change of heart and flee before the ceremony.”

Serena couldn’t control the snort that escaped her mouth, and she quickly covered her lips. The thought of it already sounded ridiculous, but it also piqued her curiosity about the previous Alpha and Luna. She imagined that if they were still alive, they would surely be wonderful in–laws and grandparents.
“Silly right? So, I don’t really believe in superstitions.” Alpha Perez chuckled as they continued strolling. Their conversation then flowed like a bubbling brook, bouncing from topic to topic with ease. Laughter and warmth filled the air as they discussed everything that came to mind.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, they found themselves drawn to a bench near the tranquil fishpond. The water shimmered in the fading light, creating a serene backdrop for their conversation to take a serious turn.
“You will officially become my wife tomorrow. How do you feel about it? Are you feeling nervous?” Alpha Perez asked, causing Serena to shift her attention towards him and flash a smile.
“No, I’m surprisingly excited.” She admitted which earned a surprised look from him, “Over the past few months, I have experienced several moments of realization. It was like a sudden awakening that allowed me to finally accept the truth that believing in love again was not an impossibility for me.”
“After my painful breakup, I thought I would never be ready for another romantic relationship. But being with you has shown me that anything is possible when you find the right person.” Serena’s eyes flickered away from him, and she leaned heavily against the wooden bench. her chest rising and falling with slow, steady breaths.
She took a deep breath, savoring the scent of freshly cut grass and the sweet melody of birds chirping loudly in the background. Slowly, she closed her eyes, letting the tranquility of the moment wash over her. When she opened them again, she met his intense gaze with equal intensity.
“I didn’t think I would say this so soon, but being with you makes me believe that the fear I had initially can be overcome when I feel the desire to take a risk.”
Alpha Perez’s heart thumped erratically as he looked deeply into her bright blue eyes. Her words caused his chest to swell with joy and a smile appeared on his face. He could feel the trust between them, knowing she felt comfortable enough to reveal such important information to him.
He was certain that she would deny any feelings she might develop for him because of the trauma she had experienced, but it seems that is not the case.
“I’m not saying that I’m in love with.
already, okay?” She carefully chose her words, wanting to avoid any potential misunderstandings or miscommunications. After checking that they were on the same page, she flashed a warm smile at him before adjusting her position to face him better.
“Keep pursuing your goal; you were almost there and were making progress towards achieving it.”
