SINCE ALPHA PEREZ’S return, he had been spending less and less time at home. Instead, he was focused on investigating the recent virus outbreak that had affected the northern region. Luna Serena couldn’t help but feel a pang of loneliness without his presence. His absence made her realize just how much she missed him. Not only it was hard for her to fall asleep at night alone, but waking up without him by her side felt hollow.

No matter how she tried to deny it, her feelings for him only grew stronger with each passing day, and despite her constant internal reminders to not let herself fall for him; she couldn’t help but feel an undeniable pull towards him. As their time together continued, it became harder to resist the pull she felt towards him.

In moments like these, doubts would creep in, and she wondered if their love was meant to last or if her fears would inevitably come true.

“Is something wrong?” Priscilla’s voice snapped Luna Serena out of her thoughts. She glanced over at her sister–in–law and smiled while shaking her head.

“It’s nothing, I’m just starting to miss your brother,” she replied casually, causing Priscilla’s eyes to widen and her cheeks to flush. While it was clear that their relationship had evolved beyond a strictly professional one, it was still somewhat surprising to hear Serena speak so openly about it.

“Are you developing feelings for him?” Priscilla’s sudden question caught Serena by surprise as she was about to take a sip of her coffee. She halted and carefully set the cup back down on the table, feeling the breeze from outside rustle through the gazebo where they were taking a break from their non–stop duties.

Serena’s mind raced as she pictured Perez treating another woman with the same tenderness and affection he showed her. The thought caused a sharp, stabbing ache in her heart, mingled with jealousy and fear. She couldn’t bear the idea of his feelings for her fading away. It was a crushing weight on her chest, causing her to feel sick to her stomach at the mere thought of it

As she came to the realization that her feelings for Alpha Perez were more than just a passing infatuation, Serena’s face turned bright red, and she instinctively covered her mouth. especially once he has already found his fated mate,” Serena’s face turned somber as she replied, her eyes drifting toward the garden and away from Priscilla. She had promised herself that she wouldn’t dwell on it anymore, but it was easier said

While I have faith in your brother, I can’t be sure how he will react when he meets the person who has been chosen for him by fate.” She turned back to her sister–in–law, gulping down the rest of her coffee before it could lose its warmth

gazebo. Her sister–in–law couldn’t help but smile at her infectious energy, taking a sip of her coffee before setting it down on the table.

Priscilla watched her sister–in–law go with a fond smile, knowing that despite any fears or worries she may have, Serena’s love for her brother was genuine. She was certain that one day, Serena would take risks and disregard any consequences in order to follow her heart.

“Perez!” The sound of Serena’s excited voice reached Alpha Perez’s ears, causing him to come to a halt and turn his head in the direction of his wife. “What’s the occasion? Is it my birthday? You’re surprisingly affectionate today.” He said in a teasing tone, his smile beaming as he observed her blushing cheeks. Serena quickly looked away, suddenly feeling self–conscious about her actions.

“O–oh well, I–I quite missed you so, seeing you–hmph!” she wasn’t able to finish her sentence when his lips crashed onto hers in a fiery kiss. The taste of his breath invaded her senses as he gripped her waist tightly, pulling her closer to him. When he finally let go, a smug smirk played on his lips, and she could feel the heat radiating from them.

“I missed you, too.” he replied, “After days of constant work, today is my last day on the job. Tomorrow, I plan to rest and enjoy some leisure time. How about we use that opportunity to shop for our outfits for the banquet? And of course, we should also pick up a gift for your father.”

“Really? That sounds good to me.” Serena nodded, a radiant smile on her face as she looked up at him. He chuckled softly, his amber eyes glimmering with joy as he affectionately patted her head. Despite working nonstop for three days and only getting four hours of sleep each night, he knew it was all worth it now.

“Yeah, but before that, we need to talk. I’ve already gathered some information about the situation with Cesare and Marga.” Serena couldn’t stop the lump from forming in her throat after hearing that. She nodded, observing how Alpha Perez confidently took her hand and laced their fingers together before leading them inside the house.
