Chapter 25
“ALL DONE” Alexia said as she finished doing Serena’s hair.
After a long journey, they finally arrived at the hotel where they would be spending the night after the party. The sun had just set, and they were getting ready to head over to the Alpha Kling’s palace
“Thank you,” Serena smiled at her own reflection in the mirror, jilmiring herself in a white off–shoulder dress with delicate touches of blue accents on the bodice. The color scheme perfectly complemented her silver hair, which was styled in a cascading waterfall braid. Her bright blue eyes sparkled even more with the addition of light makeup, enhancing their natural beauty.
She couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride in herself. It had been quite some time since she put on her best clothes and felt truly beautiful. For some reason, she could tell that the night would be eventful, and she was ready for it.
“You’re welcome, miss” Alexia smiled, “By the way, I didn’t mean to be nosy, but is everything okay between you and Alpha? You seemed a bit distant when we arrived at the capital earlier.”
Serena’s finger twitched lightly at the mention of Perez’s name. She then stood up from the chair and faced Alexia with a reassuring smile.
“No, we just had a little misunderstanding, but we’re good,” she replied, but deep down, she knew it was a lie. After all, she rejected him.
Despite appreciating his efforts, she couldn’t let him keep trying because she didn’t want to lead him on and risk them being bart in the end. As much as she felt a twinge of attraction at the thought of letting him woo her, she ultimately knew better than to jump into another romantic involvement with a man when she was still healing from her previous relationship.
“I see, that’s good to hear. Should we go now then? Alpha Perez and the rest were already waiting for us in the lobby.” Alexia said that after receiving a mind link from her alpha; she was instructed to escort Serena as soon as they were done getting ready.
“All right, let’s go.” Serena nodded before grabbing her purse and trailing after Alexia, who had opted for a dress instead of her usual warrior uniform
When they reached the lobby, her heart skipped a beat at the sight of Alpha Perez. His tall, muscular frame was clad in a sleek white suit with a black inner shirt that accentuated his broad shoulders and chiseled features. His dark hair was neatly tied into a bun, adding to his air of sophistication and making him look even more handsome and cool than usual.
The way he stood confidently, exuding an aura of power and control, sent shivers down her spine. She couldn’t help but feel drawn to him, like a moth to a flame.
As soon as their gazes met, she hastily looked away, feeling embarrassed for getting caught staring at him. But she could still sense his intense gaze lingering on her without knowing that Alpha Perez felt a lump form in his throat as he admired the way she was dressed
He had seen her wear similar outfits before, yet every time he saw her in them, she always took his breath away. And now, as she walked towards him, he couldn’t help but imagine her gliding down the aisle in a wedding gown
The image made him smile slightly. However, the vision quickly vanished when he heard her calling for his name.
“Sorry, what were you saying?” he asked, snapping out of his daze. When their gazes met, they both felt the tension between them, but Serena pushed it away. She didn’t want things to stay tense, especially since they were about to publicly announce their engagement at the banquet.
If they continued to act awkward around each other, it could cast doubt on their relationship, which would complicate their plan, and that was the last thing she wanted to happen.

“Lasked if we shall get going, she answered, and he quickly nodded before offering his arm for her to grab onto. Her eyes widened a little when she saw the slight blush dusting his cheeks. For a moment, she thought it was adorable and gladly linked her arm with his and they walked together in sync.
Despite wearing heels, she still seemed small in comparison to in. It was almost comical how even with the added height, she couldn’t match his stature.
“You looked stunning.” He whispered gently in her car as he leaned in, causing her to involuntarily tense up. She gazed up at him, a subtle blush gracing her checks and a shy smile crossing her features.
“Thank you.” Serena said softly, “You look very handsome yourself. It was my first time seeing you in formal wear.”
“Should I wear formal wear often?” Alpha Perez joked, relieved that the tension between them had dissipated and they were once again in a state of being friendly. His grin widened as he watched her laugh, and the warriors behind them were too shocked to notice their alpha wearing such a gleeful expression. It was something they had never witnessed before after all.
“No need, I know you will look good no matter what you wear,” Serena replied and when they reached the car, he gentlemanly opened the door for her and allowed her to get in before he got in on the other side.
Once they were both inside, the driver started driving forward, leading them straight to Alpha King’s palace. The ride was relatively quiet, with Serena and Alpha Perez occasionally exchanging glances and small smiles.
They wanted to talk about what happened at the train earlier, but none of them dared to bring it up.
As they arrived at the palace, Alpha Perez helped Serena out of the car before wrapping his arm around her waist possessively as they walked towards the entrance.
“Are you nervous?” he asked as he looked at her, causing Serena to return his gaze and nod in response.
“I am, but I am confident that I can handle whatever may happen inside.” She smiled as she released his hand from her waist and instead linked her arms with his. Alpha Perez returned the smile and nodded, relieved that she seemed prepared for whatever might happen next.
Meanwhile, at the banquet, Marga was engaged in lively conversation with a group of people her mother had introduced her to. This was Marga’s first time attending an event outside of their pack, and she was ecstatic to be a part of such an important gathering.
Many guests from prestigious packs were in attendance, and most of them had alpha blood like her. Marga couldn’t help but feel grateful that she had managed to get rid of Serena before this moment, as she knew Serena would have been the one experiencing all of this if she hadn’t taken action
“By the way, wasn’t your youngest daughter who went off to fight in the war? Where is she?” One of the alphas from the other pack directed his question toward her father, causing Marga to freeze in place, while Alpha Robert tried his hardest not to show how surprised he actually was.
The inevitability of this question weighed heavily on him, especially knowing that many people here already knew that Serena was the one who fought bravely in the war. Despite this knowledge, he still felt a twinge of guilt for nof acknowledging and giving credit to Serena for her contributions
“She was no longer part of our pack,” Luna Emilia chimed in, making Alpha Robert’s eyes widen in surprise. He was just about to interrupt her when the announcement of Alpha King’s arrival echoed through the grand ballroom, causing everyone to pay attention.
“I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for joining us today to commemorate our victory in the recent war, and for reclaiming our country’s territory.” The alpha King began as he looked down at all the guests below the balcony. “To begin this celebration, my beta would summon all the brave warmors who fought alongside our pack in the war and present them with a symbol of valor.”
He ran his fingers through his mustache and looked over at his beta who was standing close by. With a slight nod, he gave

the signal for the ceremony to begin, and the beta wasted no time in carrying out his orders.

One by one, he called the names of all the warriors who had fought bravely in the battle. Starting with their pack’s own warriors, he then moved on to those who had unfortunately lost their lives, presenting their badges to a family member. Following that, he acknowledged the alpha blood from packs across the country who had provided help during the war.
“Get ready, and don’t forget to express gratitude when you shake the Alpha King’s hand.” Luna Emila said to Marga, who was intently observing everything and waiting for her sister’s name to be called. She then quickly fixed her hair and turned to Calix, who tapped her with a warm smile.
“You’re already beautiful, so don’t worry,” he complimented, earning a smile from Marga,
After Serena left the pack, they made the decision to get engaged in order to take responsibility for their unborn child. While some members of the pack still disapproved of their relationship, no one dared to question their choice openly. After all, even Alpha Robert and Luna Emilia gave them the blessing.
“Thank you,” she said before turning her attention back to the front.
“Serena Montevar of Crescent Pack. The Alpha King’s beta called. At that moment, Marga strode confidently towards the red carpet, causing whispers to ripple through the crowd of warriors as they noticed it wasn’t the person they were expecting.
After all, they knew that Serena had made it through the war. While she may not have been on the front lines, her reputation preceded her due to her combat and weapon expertise. In addition, as the only werewolf unable to shift, she was easily recognizable by all the warriors in the war, even if they didn’t directly interact with her.
Despite the murmurs, Marga paid no mind to it and continued on her way, a cheerful smile still plastered on her face. But when the murmurs grew louder and more intense, she couldn’t help but glance back. Her eyes then widened in shock as she saw Serena approaching her, causing even Calix, Alpha Robert, and Luna Emilia to be taken aback by her sudd appearance. They all stared in shock, not expecting to see Serena seemingly doing well after being kicked out of the pack.
“W–why are you her-” Marga’s sentence was cut short as Serena stared at her with ice–cold eyes and walked right past her as if she didn’t even exist. Marga was frozen in shock, unable to move until she heard her sister’s voice speaking without looking at her or stopping her walk.
“Go back to where you came from, you’re too irrelevant to be claiming my spot.
