Chapter 16
“ARE YOU NERVOUS? Serena turned her heal to Alpha Perez after he asked that sudden question. She nodded her head in response and focused her attention back outside the window. After hours of driving, they finally reached their destination: Alberona, the main territory of the blood moon pack located in the north.
“This is my first time traveling up north, and for someone like me who left the pack, it’s quite nerve–wracking” She admitted with a shiver, her eyes glued firmly to the scenery outside the car window. It seemed the snow had just ended, as everything in sight was covered with a thick layer of glistening white, a stark reminder that they were now in the northern region of the country–known for its harsh winters
“Anyway, I don’t know a lot about your pack… Are they aware that you plan on bringing me along?” she asked, turning towards him. They hadn’t talked much during the ride because she had fallen asleep again. Her mind and body were so exhausted from a year of constant struggles and problems, and now that it was all over, her body craved nothing but rest.
“They do, I contacted my beta to let them know you’re coming. So, when we get to the packhouse, don’t be surprised if all the pack members are there to welcome you” Alpha Perez informed her which caused Serena’s eyes to widen
“They were all aware that the woman I will bring along was my soon–to–be wife, it was only natural for you to be welcome with open arms.” He clarified, and while Serena understood his intentions, receiving such a warm welcome would be a new experience for her–even her pack members didn’t do that when she returned after the war.
However, what caught her off guard was that he had already informed them about their upcoming marriage, despite her not
e officially divorced and them not having fully discussed the terms of their agreement.
“If only I had known earlier, I would have dolled myself up.” She couldn’t help but gaze at her reflection in the window, feeling a sense of shame for not putting more effort into her appearance. Her plain dress and high ponytail did little to make her seem presentable. And even though she tried to cover it up with makeup, the bruise on her cheekbone still showed through, making her feel even more pathetic.
“You don’t need to put in any effort; you look beautiful just the way you are. I’m sure they would be thrilled to see you, no matter what.” Serena couldn’t help but blush at Alpha Perez’s words. He really had a talent for making her feel better, and she was grateful for that. “My fellow pack members may appear tough and imposing, but they are actually very kind and appreciative. They won’t make any assumptions about you based on your appearance.”
The rest of the journey was spent in comfortable silence as Serena dozed off again, only waking up when they arrived at the packhouse.
As soon as they get out of the car, Serena is bombarded by a group of unfamiliar faces. They were all smiling warmly and greeting her, making her feel both welcomed and overwhelmed at the same time. She wasn’t sure what kind of expression she was making, but one thing was for sure, her smile was genuine
“Welcome to the Blood Moon Pack, Luna!” one of them said with a bright smile, making her eyes widen with surprise.
“P–please, just call me Serena, I am not married to Alpha Perez yet, she responded bashfully, scratching the side of her face with an awkward gesture. Still, she was relieved to see how warmly they accepted her into their community. It cased her concerns about adapting to her new home and life here.
After being introduced, Alpha Perez escorted Serena to her room and suggested she rest before joining them for dinner, as it was almost time. He then left her to give her privacy and once Serena was alone, she let out a relieved sigh while looking around her new surroundings
Compared to her chamber at the Crescent pack, this room was not only bigger but far more lavish and decorated. With a queen–sized bed, intricate wooden tables and chairs adorned with gold embroidery, a large balcony, and a fireplace that was filled with fresh logs, she could instantly tell that her family’s wealth was nothing compared to these..
It was no surprise that her father wanted to do business with Alpha Perez. Now, she couldn’t help but wonder how they

would react when they found out she was marrying him. A wave of excitement flooded her body, filling her with the desire to get revenge as soon as possible.
But she pushed the thought aside and reminded herself to be pubent and ensure that her revenge would be satisfyingly
sweet
“Ms. Serena?” A woman’s voice snapped her out of her reverie, causing her to spin towards the door and slowly open it. Her eyes widened when she saw an alluring woman with dark brown skin, almond–shaped eyes, and long black curls falling

“Hi… My name’s Priscilla, I am Alpha Perez’s younger sister, she introduced herself with a sweet smile on her face. “I’m sorry I wasn’t able to welcome you earlier, do you mind if I come in?”
“Oh sure.” Serena gave a slight nod and allowed Priscilla to enter the room. They both sat down on the sofa with Serena unable to take her eyes off Priscilla’s strikingly beautiful face. If she were a man, she knew she would have been immediately smitten with her.
“You’re stunningly beautiful just like my brother described. Priscilla complimented her, causing her cheeks to flush pink.
“H–he did?”
n his lips whenever “Yeah, ever since he came back from the war, he couldn’t stop mentioning you. Your name was always on he spoke.” Priscilla’s smile radiated warmth as she gazed at the woman in front of her. She was grateful to finally meet the person who had brought so much joy into her cold brother’s life and who made him show an expression she had never seen before just by talking about her.
“By the way, if you were wondering why I didn’t greet you earlier, it’s because I was speaking with the beta of the Alpha King. He informed me of a celebratory banquet in two weeks, and since you already left your pack, it means you are going to attend the banquet together with my brother and his ten warriors who fought in the war.”
