Chapter 6
THE ROOM fell into a stunned silence as Serena looked at her sister in disbelief. It took
a moment for her to register the absurdity of what she had just heard. Judging by the expressions on everyone’s faces, her father was the only one who seemed oblivious to the truth..
“Fucking shameless, Serena muttered, her hand balling into a hit before she took a step forward, Calix attempted to intervene, but she brushed him aside and without pause, delivered a swift slap to Marga’s face, which caught her off guard.
“Serena!” Calix and Luna Emilia shouted in unison, but she just glared at them.
“What? Am I now allowed to slap this shameless bitch for fucking someone else’s mate?”
Serena’s words were sharp and angry, causing the three to gulp nervously. They couldn’t quite place it, but there was something different about her aura from the last time they saw her. She was no longer the calm and understanding young woman they once knew,
“It already happened! Getting angry won’t change anything, so try to stay calm and avoid making the situation worse.” Luna Emilia’s words triggered something inside Serena, causing her to grab the glass of water from the table and hurl it in frustration. The sudden outburst surprised everyone in the room, except for Alpha Robert who sat calmly in his chair. struggling to understand the situation unfolding before him.
He was aware that his eldest daughter and son–in–law were becoming too close, but he never thought they would have a secret relationship. He struggled with conflicting emotions, knowing he should intervene, but when he saw the look on his younger daughter’s face, mirroring his own and his late mother’s in moments of anger, he couldn’t bring himself to meddle. He just decided to let her handle the situation in her own way.
“Wow, am I at fault? Honestly, the nonchalant way you reacted to Marga’s confession made me think that you were already aware of her shameless actions!” Serena replied with venom in her voice. “Tell me, Luna Emilia, what kind of mother would tolerate such shameless behavior? Tell me-
Emilia’s hand connected with her face, causing Serena’s eyes to widen in shock and pain. She instinctively reached up to touch her stinging cheek before quickly turning to face her mother, whose own eyes widened at the glint of anger in her daughter’s gaze. Meanwhile, Alpha Robert let out a tired sigh as he pushed his chair back and rubbed his temples, clearly exhausted from the tension between his wife and daughter.
“Calix, did you really impregnate Marga?” he asked, causing the two to exchange glances,
“I–I’m sorry. Everything Marga said was the truth; we fell in love”
“Enough, I don’t want to hear more.” Alpha Robert’s voice was stern, disappointment etched on his expression. “The party will proceed tonight as planned, but after that, you two will face consequences for doing such a disgraceful thing. Do you understand the amount of embarrassment this could bring once news spreads?”
Tension hung in the air as everyone in the room held their breath. Serena fought back her tears and bit her lip hard, somehow relieved that her father was doing what he knew was right as an Alpha. She had been worried that no one would stand by her in this dreadful situation, but it seemed that her father wasn’t completely biased after all
“And you, Serena, stay in your room and don’t get out until I say so. Whatever information you find out about your marriage needs to be kept confidential, for the sake of our pack and your sister’s reputation.” Serena froze; the hand that was touching her cheeks slowly went limp and slipped down onto her side. She then let out a laugh before looking at her father.
“You are all seriously messed up.” She shook her head in disbelief and gave everyone a chilling look before storming out of the dining area. Calix who knew how much he fucked up, immediately ran after her, calling her name desperately as he attempted to stop her, but Serena swatted his hand away harshly
When she reached her chamber, she slammed the door shut and turned the lock, muffling her sobs behind her hands as she couldn’t handle any more of this. Tears streamed down her face as she collapsed onto the floor, feeling miserable. She then hugged her legs tightly, pressing her face into them as she sobbed in complete pain and frustration.

“Hon, please let’s talk. bet sue explain.” Calix begged as he leaned his forehead against the wooden door, listening to her muffled cries. He was fully aware that what he had done was wrong, but he couldn’t resist the temptation. At first, he felt bad for his actions and how they had hurt Serena before she went off to war, but those feelings quickly faded as Marga kept him preoccupied almost every day by spending time together.
Before he knew it, their affair spiraled out of control, leaving Calix unable to resist their intense connection.
“Seren-”
“Don’t fucking utter my name. Leave if you don’t want me to spread words about your infidelity.” Serena’s words were filled with anger and a clear threat, causing Calix to wince. He could only apologize again before quickly leaving, knowing that his wife was serious about carrying out her threat.
After he walked out, Serena took a moment to compose herself and wipe away her tears. She then stood up quickly and snatched her wallet, determined to leave the packhouse before her father could order his warriors to watch her every move. Luckily, he appeared occupied with talking to Marga and Luna Erila, allowing Serena to escape and wander aimlessly through the town.
She was well aware of her disheveled appearance, but it was the last thing on her mind. All she could feel was a numb emptiness in her heart and mind, incapable of comprehending the painful series of events that had led her to this moment All she wanted was to escape this wretched existence and find peace away from her pack. If only she had known how things would turn out, she never would have returned home.
She was already devastated by Calix’s infidelity, but the fact that he had been sleeping with her own sister and gotten her pregnant was a crushing blow.
“Did I commit a crime in my previous life to deserve all of this? She muttered to herself, walking down the street until she noticed a PUB on the opposite side. Normally, she only drank wine or champagne, but today she craved something stronger; something that would help her forget everything for just a little while.
As she pushed through the doors of the PUB, her eyes scanned the room warily because it was her first time in such an establishment. However, as soon as she stepped inside, the cozy ambiance put her at ease. The atmosphere was laid–back and there were only a few customers scattered throughout the room.
With that, she walked towards the counter and took a seat on one of the barstools. Her eyes widened in amazement as she gazed at the array of glasses and bottles lining the shelves behind the counter.
“Excuse me, can I have your best seller, please?” she asked, feeling a bit embarrassed about her question.
“Right away, miss.” The old bartender flashed a warm smile at Serena, causing her to reciprocate with a slight grin despite feeling the eyes of other customers on her. They clearly recognized her and were starting to chat about her, but she decided to block them out and instead focused on the drink being placed in front of her.
She closed her eyes and let the smooth burn of the drink slide down her throat, providing a much–needed distraction from her worries. Even though the alcohol was too strong for her liking, she continued to order the same drink until she heard a commotion outside.
Suddenly, a shiver ran down her spine as she sensed a few warriors from their pack nearby.
“Shit, I don’t want to go home.” Her words were barely audible as she reached into her pocket to pull out her wallet. Despite her blurry vision and fuzzy head, she was able to fish out some cash and place it on the table before clumsily standing up from her chair.
“Are you okay?” The kind bartender asked but Serena was already in a state of panic. Not hearing the old man’s question, she hastily made her way towards the backroom. She had noticed a few patrons leaving through that exit earlier, and it seemed like the perfect escape route.

“There she is! Miss Serena & warrior’s shout echoed through the back alley, causing her to startle and frantically run away She nearly stumbled a couple of times, her mind still clouded from the alcohol she had consumed earlier, but she pushed herself to run as fast as she could.
Although she couldn’t shift into her wolf form, her pure Alpha blood gave her an ad in speed. Eventually, the rush of adrenaline wore off and she struggled to catch her breath while running at top speed. Her vision blurred as dizziness set in. and before she knew it, someone had grabbed her and pulled her towards a nearby door.
Her eyes widened in fear as the figure dragged her into the room, quickly cornering her against the wall. She was panting heavily, her vision slowly blacking out, making it difficult to make out any details of the person who covered her mouth with their hand.
Despite her urge to pass out, she fought to stay conscious and pry away the hand covering her mouth. “Who-”
“Shhh.” The man in front of her silenced her by gently pressing his index finger against her lips. Even though that room was dark, she could make out his features after blinking a few times. Suddenly, she felt a sense of familiarity that she would
never confuse with anyone else’s presence.”
“Alpha Perez?”
