Kathryn’s POV:
Chapter 28
As soon as Giovanni realized that it was Cornelius, his arrogance quickly faded. He looked at me inquisitively. “Is she your woman?”
Cornelius replied, “Don’t talk nonsense. She’s a friend I invited.”
Giovanni Instantly put on a friendly smile. “Oh, so you’re a friend of Mr. Schmidt. Sorry to bother you. Let’s catch up another time.”
Cornelius raised his glass toward him and led me out of the dance floor. “How did you get tangled up with him?”
I rubbed my waist in frustration. “He came over to ask me for a dance, then started getting handsy. Who is he?”
Cornelius cast a disdainful glance at Giovanni’s retreating figure. “The second son of the Shaw family. Just avoid him in the future.”
He gave me a once–over, but despite his roguish eyes, there was no malice–only genuine appreciation. “Is this one of your boss‘ new designs?”
“Of course! Don’t you think you got a great deal signing that contract?” Both Esther and I were the living advertisements for Lush Moon tonight.
Cornelius smiled. “Have you ever considered making Lush Moon an international haute couture atelier?”
This had always been Esther’s dream, and naturally, mine too.
We both started from scratch, building what we had through quality, excellent reputation, and Esther’s tireless business efforts day and night.
If we could get access to Cornelius‘ resources, it would undoubtedly be a game changer.
I took a sip of water and said, “I’m just an assistant.”
Cornelius licked his lips, his smile widening. “How about becoming the assistant to a designer from an international haute couture atelier?”
I fiddled with my glass. “What? You’re trying to poach me now?”
Cornelius quickl
responded, “I wouldn’t dare. It’s just that our company is planning to launch a new reality show called ‘The Great Designer‘. It’ll introduce the public to the world of fashion designers and models while also showcasing new talent. We were hoping you could connect us to Serenity. We’d love to invite her to participate.”
Everyone knew that Gladeast Entertainment’s reality shows were top–notch, with each one becoming a hit.
If Lush Moon could get on the show, it would mean Esther wouldn’t have to go from event to event chasing clients. The atelier would undergo a significant transformation.
I was intrigued.
“May I ask, will the show provide assistants for the designers, or?” I decided to clarify the details first.
When the show provided assistants, it often stirred up conflict and drama, but that was not the focus I wanted.
“Of course, designers bring their own assistants. The audience wants to see the efficiency and results of real work.”
With my doubts cleared, I extended my hand confidently. “I’ll have to discuss this with Esther first, but I hope we can collaborate.”
Cornelius‘ eyes lit up, and he shook my hand. “I look forward to the good news.“.
The next moment, Cornelius suddenly let go of my hand as if he’d touched something unpleasant. He straightened up and handea me a business card. “Enjoy yourself, I need to go greet some guests.”
I stood there, staring dumbfounded at Cornelius‘ retreating figure, feeling a bit bewildered.
Why did I get the feeling that he seemed a bit scared of me just now?
Cornelius‘ POV:
The moment I shook hands with Kathryn, I felt a chill creep up the back of my neck.
A werewolf’s danger sense–it told me there was a powerful wolf nearby, one that wanted to hunt me!
I quickly excused myself from Kathryn and hurried upstairs. Sure enough, there was Lucian, leaning against the railing on the second floor, smoking a cigarette.
Chapter 28
From Lucian’s vantage point, he must have seen my entire friendly interaction with Kathryn.
I rubbed my neck, remembering the icy gaze I had felt earller, and forced a smile. “Lucian, don’t tell me you’re jealous?”
I quickly tried to explain, “There’s nothing between me and her. It’s purely work–related, nothing like what you’re thinking.”
Before I could finish, Lucian cut me off coldly. “What kind of work would you possibly have with her?”
“Lucian, you don’t know?” I cautiously watched his expression.
Lucian’s sharp gaze swept over me. “What is it I’m supposed to know?”
It seemed he didn’t realize yet that his little Luna was none other than the famous Serenity.
I suddenly found myself looking forward to the moment when Lucian discovered that Serenity was his Luna.
“Your Luna is Serenity’s assistant.”
Lucian was surprised as he thought Kathryn was merely an attendant at the atelier.
