Kathryn’s POV:
Chapter
25
Ophelia was taken aback.
Serenity’s gowns were indeed very expensive, but she clearly hadn’t expected it to be this costly. Her face turned red immediately.
I hadn’t planned to get involved, but when it came to Serenity’s reputation, I couldn’t help but stand up from the couch and walk over to the two of them. “Ms. Pearce, there are a lot of people at the party. Why don’t you go change into another gown and then we can talk?”
I certainly didn’t remember helping Juliette design a dress. On the contrary, the gown Ophella was wearing was my design.
I had put a lot of effort into the butterflies on the hem, and it had only sold for three hundred thousand.

Upon seeing this, the attendant immediately stopped in front of me. “Excuse me, miss, could you please show me your invitation?”
“If I was able to get in, then naturally I had an invitation,” I shot back with a cold glance. “It’s just that the invitation isn’t on me.”
My invitation was in Esther’s handbag along with hers.
The attendant hesitated for a brief moment.
Juliette sneered, “Not on you, or you don’t have one at all? Did you snuck in? In a place like this tonight, even a few photos could allow a little assistant from a clothing store to live a lifetime.”
As though her words served as a reminder to him, the attendant and took a step closer to me. “Miss, please show your invitation, or we will have to ask you to leave!”
I didn’t want to cause a scene at Cornelius‘ event, so I took out my phone to call Esther.
Esther was probably busy. I tried several times but received no answer.
Ophelia noticed my embarrassment and said apologetically, “It’s my fault. It has nothing to do with anyone else. Thank you, miss.”
Juliette scoffed coldly. “You’re so eager to show off even when you have no clue, and you say it’s fine even if you make a fool of yourself. So, what does that make me? Someone who can be trampled on by just anyone?”
The attendant’s impatience was also visible. “Miss, if you continue like this, I’ll have no choice but to call security.”
Though he said that, he didn’t give me any time to react. He waved to a nearby security guard and directly said, “Take this lady away and search her. Don’t let her take any relevant materials out of the venue; her phone must be checked as well, just in case she took any unauthorized photos!”
The security guards strode over to me, and the leading one snatched my phone, cutting off my connection to the outside world. He even turned on the screen to try to sneak a peek at my photo gallery.
Up until then, it had been somewhat bearable, but now they were completely invading my privacy.
“How can you do this? You’re violating someone’s privacy. This is illegal!” Before I could finish, Ophelia stepped forward and tried to grab the phone from the security guard’s hands but was pushed back.
Wearing sky–high heels, she nearly lost her balance and fell.
I reached out to steady her and completely changed my expression. These people were pushing their luck!
I glared coldly at them. “Take me to see Cornelius Schmidt. He’ll know if I arrived with an invitation or not.”
His invitation for both me and Esther was issued by him, and since I couldn’t reach Esther, it would be easier to see him.

The attendant laughed. “Ma’am, those who sneaked In here are here for Mr. Schmidt, if he had to meet each one, he wouldn’t be able to get anything done.”
He waved his hand impatiently. “Take her away!”
